What a dumb ass !!!

Recommended Posts

If I could kick my own ass I would . I knocked my .243 the other evening, I leant it against the truck and it fell over . So I thought id have a go at checking zero I put three in at 100 meters and it was ok so I thought while I’m at it I’d check what it was doing at 200 and it was all over the shop . I’m scratching my head thinking “shit , I need to go back to the drawing board for those home loads “. Then I get home and go to remove the sound mod and it’s bloody loose !! ????? Is it just me that does stuff like this ? Or does  anyone else have stuff like this happen to them ?

I was testing some loads and thought they should be getting tighter but they were all over, same thing mod was loose, had to redo the two loads I'd messed up again and they were sweet.

Never had a loose mod but did once leave a caller on the roof of the motor and set off home, 3 mile down the road and then smash, I thought I know what that is, oh well, nothing a roll of gaffer tape didn’t sort out ?

Strange that SL if it was ok at 100 , can’t see what 200 difference would make mate

unless it wobbled loose more atb

I reckon that when I got back in the truck to drive back another 100meters from my target I must have somehow worked it loose , and in fairness the 100 meter group wasn’t all that clever, but I put that down to my marksmanship.

Zeroing at Garland's yesterday 4th round jammed ?

Oops no cleaning rod ,no gunsmith on site so 30 minutes lost sat scratching thick head .

Next 3 blokes turn up for the next slot 1 passes me his cleaning rod and the round fell out with gouges from the crap id pushed in??.

So in 1 hour 4 shots fired ,1 dirty chamber and a realization why you have a range box full of cleaning gear at home 20 miles away ??

So no S,L you don't have the monopoly on dumb ive passed that test in spades??

Me too. Fitted a scope recently and had not tightened it up to the grooves! Fortunately I realized before I got to far from home.

Mods can work loose from expansion after a few shots. It was maybe tight for the 100 group but just wanted nipping up, by the time you shot the 200 that slack maybe worked a bit more from general movement to becoming properly loose?
