The real issue is when they confiscate or arrest on the 'likeleyhood' of poaching. It happens and they take from those who wont/cant challenge them on it. Police need to proove he poached it if not on the land.

As a kid, the first two times i was caught red handed, we were released and went right to a soliciter who dealt with these offences, as he usually represents those who were prosecuting. We got there first and he got us off twice (with legal aid). Third time we were a bit late out the cells and they beat us to him and we got a guilty. Recon they tipped the coppers to hold us back...

They don’t need to prove nothing because he’s already suspected of poaching that’s why he was pulled over in the first place for a random check they take the tools of the trade to stop any more lamping going on the lad can’t prove it’s not poached when asked so there for it’s suspicion of poaching that’s good enough reason to take the lamp There hold it till there imaginary investigation goes on till it’s imaginary complete it’s to put the frighteners to the lad he’ll get it back but just not yet

What was the lad doing bumping in to them in the first place, I had the sense to escape capture at 13 year old when I used to lamp on my own. 

It isn't hard to disappear in to the night whilst out on foot imo.

I remember about 10 years ago Me and  mate got stopped we was walking on edge of our village with a lamp n 2 dogs copper asked what we was up to I said walking to the pub in the next village,,,,, he said so why the big lamp ? Many years ago.before i reformed well sort of lol got caught ferreting on a eastate ba....rds took all the gear didnt take the dogs them days got fined £5 and costs but got all the gear coz a mate came to court and said id lent it of him so got it all back as they cant take stuff that dont belong to the offender thats a fact ?

Mate my old mentors first rules then I first started lamping foxes with him an his dogs was it all stays to your self an between us only no one else is involved or invited to the party it didn’t happen this was before the ban he was definitely a loose lips sinks ships type of guy I’ve a hell of a lot of respect for some of the stuff he used to say to me an what the direction the lurcher game would go in it’s happening

It's against the law to run a rabbit with a dog since 1828 them were his words. Never said with or without permission. Just said the law says since 1828 you can not run a dog against a rabbit. Now that might be lamping not day time. Because the law only came out in 2004 not to run hares so rabbits hares ad say is same so think it's lamping he was on about
