I had to chuck it after I had a scrap with my brother and he drew cocks and tits on all the birds, and changed their names to things like knob warbler, great tits, mallard fcuk, redwank etc. Was I right about the Hobby chasing the Swift?
Greb147 6,809
They're definitely Swifts lads, it doesn't mean they took it on the wing though. If they do land they can struggle to get back in the air if I'm not mistaken?

This lock down type of thing has actually got me looking even more, types of insects particularly beetles, I'll see one and have to look up what type it is...like a kid again really Lol... I'm shit on insects, so it's a new learning curve I suppose... Sad really...lol
Squirrel_Basher 17,102
Just for the record lads ,Hobbies eat mainly insects caught on the wing but will take young birds in the nesting season .If it was a bop taking a swift in fair flight the bird my money is on is a merlin .Fair bit smaller than a kestrel . Daniel cain 48,417
I always thought that hobbies hunted dragonflies etc... They cross merlins with other falcons like the perigrine for catching small birds starlings etc
