Check that it's running well, not cutting out, ask was the shaft ever changed, when was it serviced last. 

Not much you can do really after that. Always go for a good brand  sthil Kawasaki, husqvarna.

Spot on mate. Stihl is the way to go..

Don't bother with b&q own brand or similar.

Would never buy any cheap rubbish out of b&q, or shops like them.

A lot of hire out places sell off used stock at the end of the year.  You should try one of these. 

Also Honda do goid ones as well, but in four stroke.

I done 240 hrs community service on a stihl strimmer.and no matter how hard you work it.i couldn't kill it lol.

Thumbs up for Stihl again it’s the weapon of choice for the off track lads on the railway and the amount of cables and small pieces of rail and rail clips they smash into and they still keep going buy once cry once is a motto I live by it saves in the long run.

Tanaka is a good product,i use stihl cutters,got 5 ts410,s and 2 ts 700s,also got 2 new model huskys and they are great,very powerfull and i prefer them to the stihl.if your not using the strimmer etc every day,then echo are not bad if bought new.as ever tho it comes down to money.
