mushroom 12,389
So, I decide to go to the mountains again. My plan on Friday was to have a Chinese buffet, early night and catch the 6:45am train... That didn't happen.. I got steaming drunk, ended up with a kebab at 4am, babbling about needing to go get the rucksack and dog I caught the train (on-time incredibly) and I was in some bloody state, dressed for the mountains, smelling like I've been in the lash, still pished, with the hangover setting in I get to where I'm going (Santa Celloni) and find a bar, to grab a coffee, gather my thoughts and try to sober the hell up. That doesn't happen.. At this hour the locals in the bar, taking great love to the fact I'm British, leathered and about to set off into certain doom. In the state I'm in, they decide the best thing for me is more alcohol lol. After a few shickers bought by the locals, I set out on my adventure... then realise I got off at the wrong fuucking station it's a 7 mile walk to where I need to be to start the hike. (You can see where this trip is going right here hahaha) On my way I find truckers growing cannabis (ace but not ready) As I'm walking down the river to go to this place I'd planned I decided to take a nap, threw the hammock up and chilled for a bit, an hour sleep, some grub and off we set again. At this point it's sweltering, and I'm now thinking I may have bitten off more than I can chew but I'm British, so I'm soldering on . Yep I gave up and decided to head into the mountains from where I was, fuuck the lake lol, its miles away. walked for about 3-4hours into the mountains. Found a spot and that was me... so I thought Edited September 1, 2019 by mushroom 12

Popular Post mushroom 12,389
Went to bed feeling worn out, but happy, then.... At 2:30 this morning, we were bloody attacked by a startled sound of boar I'm in my hammock, belly full, a nice bit of drink and a spliff in me... the dog just starts growling. That low growl that a dog does when it really means business. Next thing was this almighty crashing and grunting, the dog goes f***ing mental. I jumped out of the hammock with my chopper in hand, head torch in the other and sees about 5-6 boar standing their ground about 10 yard away, stomping and mashing their teeth. Well I shit it obviously lol, started screaming get out of here rar blah blah and making as much noise as poss. This only eggs the fuucking dog on more, who at this point is trying to tear into them and nearly ripping the hammock down in the process, it was a fuucking scandal Thankfully the boar, after what seemed an eternity in a Mexican stand off, fuuck off, dog is still going crazy but pigs ain't dumb they knew he wasn't able to get at them and just wandered off as you like. Have to say I needed another spliff and finished the second hip flask after that heart like the clappers, shaking from adrenalin and the dog grumbling like f**k because I wouldn't let him loose. Jesus what a trip Dog's now happy... and I managed to save this little fella from certain death (fuucking cats!) 10 3

mushroom 12,389
Normally I like to add a few photos of scenery but we didn't go high enough. Tbh it is is way to hot to start summiting peaks. Between the dog and me, I was carrying 6ltrs and it was gone by this morning. He was drinking from the river (until we headed into the mountains). At this time of year there's not enough water around to do a trek. A day hike maybe.
C.green 3,203
Could you find pigs easy enough over there and are they feral pigs or wild boar ? I know theres wild boar there but just wondering do you get a mix of the two ? Edited September 1, 2019 by C.green
mushroom 12,389
They're like rats Edited to add.. As far as I'm aware around Catalunya they're all boar, no hybrids. I could be wrong though. Edited September 1, 2019 by mushroom

No, it's a big knife/chopper that was gifted to me many years ago. Made in Thailand, I'll have you know. Keeps a crap edge but it'll hurt anything it hits
