Well, it suggests visiting the Met Police website...............so I did - and found this ! "Hate crimes such as racist crime, domestic abuse and homophobic crime are one of our highest priorities. Currently, we have over 900 specialist hate crime investigators working across London’s dedicated hate crime Community Safety Units (CSUs). " Pretty close match, I'd say.......... Earlier this week, I read the that several of the recent murders have been voluntarily taken over by City police as the Met were struggling to cope.............. 2+2=................

Or a bit of both ? 900 hate crime officers, but community policing has pretty much stopped nationwide. So what ? The police themselves always said that community initiatives were their primary source of intelligence ! These two policies are clearly contradictory !

Poor priorities. Personally I couldn't care less if these gangs killed each other till there was one person left, but to not be able to investigate murders because the cops are all trawling facebook to see if someone called someone a nasty name is pathetic. Cressida Dick is doing an awful job. Time to step down I think.
Blackbriar 8,569
And........is it just me that thought of this ? If cuts in police numbers are not a factor in the rising number of stabbings, shootings and crime generally (as the Home Office would have us believe), why did they make such a hullabaloo when 300 extra police officers were found, the other day, mysteriously, from who knows where ? Maybe it was some of the hate crime officers ? Maybe they were from Operation Domain ? Never heard of it ? It's a Met police database that collates gang related 'music' videos..........they've identified 1,100 on YouTube alone that they'd like removed (and so far haven't been !). Now, while this is, without a doubt, a worthwhile endeavour, given the current situation, could that not put this on a back burner........because I can't find out how many officers they have working on it, but I'm prepared to guess that it's a good few ! (As a by the by, Domain has identified that tw4t Tim Westwood as a major culprit for hosting videos that threaten direct violence !) Get the police out of their cars and out of their offices, get them off their 'specialist' operations (which have been largely ineffective) and go back to community policing - if you're very unlikely to see the police up close, on a regular basis, you're less likely to be bothered about being caught by them ! That seems a clear cut and obvious part of the solution !
Ted Newgent 4,896
if you think those laws are poorly written and worthless just two weeks back the safety minister of canada introduced bill C71 this WAS supposed to reduce the gang/gun problem that has hit all major canadian cities. the proposed bill does absolutely fck all to combat this issue but it just now impedes the law abiding firearm owner here in canada. so politicians just write shite to make themselves look good to the electoral base,no thought process goes into the actual crux and implementation of any new laws to combat the real issues. even the issues in the states are being used to pass a law over there with the use of bump stocks. no thought gone into this but its surely make the police/home office look like they are 'acting' in the proper manner to make london safer bunch of fckn a$$holes again rant over
