What's Your Favourite Xs Of Lurcher

Recommended Posts

run all sorts off different lurchers over a good few years,my own and good mates dogs, when i used to do alot of daytime work always worked beddyxs with whippet or grejyhound in them, now as im getting older and where i live these last few years i have gone back to my first true love in lurchers the deerhoundx greyhound hybrids, not every bodys cup of tea,but this type of lurcher really helped me out when times were hard,so its definetly the deerhoundx for me, closely followed the beddy x, every body has there favourite type of lurcher, but if it suits your life style ,what you hunt, and type of land you run on, then atb.

totally agree with this reply mate

Over the last five decades,...I have owned most hybrids,...and walked out with many different types belonging to my fellow hunters,... Truth is, I have loved them all,...some better than others obvio

Yes, I really like them.... Wish I had access to such a phenomenal tool,.. back in the late 1970s/80s....

I dont realy have a fave but the collie bull grays and saluki bull grey or a 3/4 grey 1/4 bull seems to stand out for me   My collie bull gtey has become quite a handy dog on fur and feather

Of the dogs I have had or seen I would have my wife's Russell x whippet again if I could. He's nine now and getting on a bit but still gives 100% at whatever you ask him to do .... except being quiet. 9 f***ing years I've spent trying to stop him whining in the car on the way out but he still does it lol

Penda I like the sound of that a bit of Alsatian in the mix

its my 1st of this type I know if you get a good one they can knock some gear over she's showed promise see how she's plays out
ive only ever seen one that was years ago this cross as always interested me the one I see was meant to be a very handy bitch on the roe
yeah in the late 80s and early 90s they were deffo the cross for the deer and fox the one bitch was really well known round here for killing big amounts of deer I heard the one night a lad was trailing two dog he said they can match her for dropping them deer il buy them both dogs never caught and pulled up that bitch went on to drop 3 one after the other the bloke who was selling the other two dogs said il give you what you want for her my mate said no chance

Lurcher cross lurcher , they suit me WP_20150415_17_57_46_Pro_zps54e48f0d.jpg

Spot on that. I've never really targeted a specific type or cross myself. Got a deer/Collie/whip/grey and a Wheaten/Collie/bull/grey here both lurcher to lurcher and they suit me.

I do fancy trying a saluki bull grey to saluki bull grey at some point though. I've seen a few and they've all been good dogs and turn their paw to anything types.
