bird 10,014
Too many people think they have sciatica or a trapped nerve without actually getting it diagnosed as such the back is a complicated thing theres 101 things that can go wrong with it you cant just say " give me some anti inflams ive got a trapped nerve " like a lot of people do......get to a specialist before you go to a chiropractor or osteopath and find out what the problem is for most middle aged people its just degenerative wear but get things diagnosed properly.....you can never have too many scans !! Spot on gnash right on the money mate, you just said what ive been told few years back by 2 back specialist, the work i did as young man was heavy manual digging trenches 6 hours a day, and hand stacking 2-3000 kegs a day , both this type of jobs took there toll on my lower back, as said slipped discs at 1st , was fooked could not move at all back then when they went .But now from my last 2 scans it showed ( worn + bulging discs ) the doctors said ive got ( degenerative disc's ) and there nothing reall you can do about it, in other you are fooked they said me old son. i finished work 10 years ago , and take pain killers every day, and back/leg/ gut/ exercises every day to help with my prob, but at my age not more can be done , just try to live with it, it standing and sitting down to long the killer , i am really glad my son not got a job like i had , as his back might not be put under the strain as mine was . he got nice office job, and goes to the gym /football every week. plus he different physic to me bit shorter . alot of tall people seem to get more back probs, than smaller blokes ive found

lanesra 4,007
I tried all sorts after being told it was sciatic , acupuncture and a few physios to no avail, was hospitalised twice , then a friend mentioned this lady and I kid you not she was like an angel sent from heaven I literally crawled into her practice , depressed as after mths I'd actually thought that this was me fukced , after 10mins she told me "don't worry we'll sort this" and too be honest I'd really lost faith in everyone . . We'll sort it she did :) don't get me wrong I have the odd twinges and I take naproxen & gabapentone every so often but I can live with it . . I can't remember what she is called professionally, but she specialises in backs , after a few sessions she told me she was trained in London at a top place and her parents remortgaged there house to help fund her . . Keep the faith mate as it can be sorted !!

I just started getting a pain on the right hand side of my back just twinges at first then when it's travelled and I,m now in pain on the left leg I,m really struggling .
