Rez 4,961
When you apply for ya ticket, with air rifles of course, what does the landowner need to do? Does plod have to visit each perm? Or do you have to get something from the land owner that you just submit with the paperwork? Quote Link to post
cragman 2,843
I just got written permission letters and included copies of them when I sent off for my license. The police did check a few of them but they will be aware of the land and could even of visited the land in the past. They will be concerned with footpaths, roads and rights of way Quote Link to post
The one 8,589
dont know i asked at my work as they like me to phone the police every time i go out and i got a email back saying as i had shotguns and rifles i had good reason to have a airgun and would be covered with my existing certificates , but my fao told me he had a map of this county and it was marked what guns would be suitable so i cant see them having to go round all the farms one farmer told me he just got a phone call asking how i was and was i okay handling guns Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Depends on what part of the country you are , some police forces are giving out open tickets for airguns , not here in Dorset though Quote Link to post
philpot 5,104
I simply gave details of the farm address, farmer's details and total acres. No letter of consent was asked for nor was a map of the land asked for but I think my perm has had a search done in years gone by and is already approved for FAC use. Two new perms I picked up had FAC approval and I advised the Firearms dept at the time of applying for my variation. They didn't even want details of the land, just said if it has been approved, then don't bother applying as it doesn't show on your ticket anyway. Just seems strange to me. Then I have heard in other areas, full paperwork with maps, letter from the land owner and a visit to walk the land with police officers before approval is given. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
Metalman2 45
As above, i enclosed a permission slip signed by the farmer , you only need one perm. Farmer and both referees were contacted and FEO visited the farm Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
Some forces have their own permission papers they want the landowner to sign then you send that in with your application. Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,568
I mentioned to one of the farm permissions - would they mind if I applied for F.A.C should I decide to ? Steve, (farmer), replied no problem as the land has already been passed. I`ve still never bothered,- my field craft is good enough. atb Mark. Quote Link to post
