I was given permission to use terriers to ground on a farm shoot on the understanding that I'd have a go at the moleskin as the farmer keeps sheep also so having no knowledge at all I had a chat with a pal who lent me 5 traps and let me pick his brain I put them in 3 days ago and checked them to day out of 5 traps 3 had been back filled but had 2 not bad for a first time I thought

Ain't got a clue what it's called sort of a plate bent like a section of pipe with wire loops that are spring loaded i was surprised how strong the spring are

Its more commonly called a Duffus. And the price on the link you put up was very cheap. I wouldn't buy one at that price, with mole traps, you get exactly what you pay for.

Well done mate , if you get into it , get yourself some traps from the flatpack company and yes it's half barrel , " duffus " traps your using.

Days like today i wish i couldnt trap. At a real bleak spot and the snow kept falling, the wind was like foooking ice and i was as sick as foooook. Im sat in front of stove now trying to warm through. Only billed three hours as well!!! Had to drive back home cos i got muddled and had brought a shitload of the wrong traps, thinking it was another farm, then i got called back again cos i had put the daughters car key on my keyring taking the lad to rugby last night and forgot and she needed to be at the hairdressers for her appointment.

Ah well, back at it tomorrow

Been quite pleasant down here once the sun takes the frost off.

Incidentally, had my first pumped up male mole of the season today, much earlier than the last 5/6 years.
