Nik_B 3,790
It's that time of year again, afters stopping smoking for 3 months earlier in the year I crumbled again and started smoking again. Over the years I've tried everything under the sun and stopped loads of times but can never stay stopped. I'm starting to accept I'm hopelessly addicted to nicotine and instead of getting off the drug itself I think I'll look for nicotine replacements that aren't a pain in the arse like patches etc. Has anyone tried Snus? I'm wondering what it's like and whether it gives you a proper hit of nicotine? Tried E-cigs , it makes my asthma worse, and please don't even mention that nightmare drug Champix...I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole ever again
The Seeker 3,048
It's a nightmare pal but worth it in the end. Like you I tried everything but it was always the same, just one with a pint won't hurt, or I've definitely cracked it now I will just have one to be sociable, then bang straight back on them again. Patches were my way, I've tried them before but like above stopped because I thought I'd cracked it. I finally did the full course from start to finish and even when I thought I'd beaten it I carried on. After that I never wanted to undo all the good work so that was it , 6 years later never touched another. Those electric things that are the size of a brick weren't available then but I'm glad because all they do is substitute the ciagerrette, you are still addicted to nicotine but just not from cigs so not really stopped smoking. If I can do it mate you can.
jukel123 9,046
Just stop putting them in your f***ing mouth. Read the stats, look at the photos of diseased lungs. Think of this weird world where the tobacco barons wear suits, are immensely wealthy and deemed respectable, yet they are the most lethal drug dealers in the world. I stopped after reading Alan Carr's book How to Stop Smoking. What did it for me was his argument that people smoke to help them with stress. But the truth is smoking actually INCREASES your stress. Think about it. Stop being a weak mug. Edited December 28, 2016 by jukel123

Nik_B 3,790
Wear nicotine patches over night for amazing trippy dreams...much safer than Champix as well Nicotine isn't particularly bad for you, I'm not sure I want off it anymore but I just don't want to smoke as it's knackering my lungs. Turns out Snus is bloody banned in the EU....trigger Article 50 asap!

BGD 6,437
You can order it online with no problem I think, it's just illegal to sell within the EU pretty sure there's no law against possessing or importing for personal consumption. I can't see the UK overturning the ban even after they've left the EU TBH.
