Exactly what I wanted to hear ;-) Have you kept your equipment updated or still the same old turntable etc? Nik_B 3,791
Since we obviously have a load of old ravers here did anyone ever go to Legends in Warrington in the early 90s? That was amazing
Waz 4,293
Had loads pinched by an ex, it was the day the music died for me for a few years. Still got a few bits including my The Orb 12"s. Just bought a few new 12"s last one was The Stone Roses vinyl, ive just not got nothing now to play them on. Few bands of late been to see their new stuff including on vinyl, nice to see. Used to love rummaging records at boot fairs. Could I buy a turntable that goes through the p.c.? or one with a built in preamp to play through my guitar amp via jack? Im due another xmas present to myself see I've got Fools Gold on gold vinyl...;-) I have all the stone roses singles on 7 and 12 inch. Fools gold 12" was one of the bits of vinyl I lost to an ex, she loved them as much as me and we used to listen to Sally Cinamon on vinyl together when we first met., the funniest thing was that the person that bought me the Fools gold 12" I ended up spending the next 20 years with LOL, Roses have got a lot to answer for! Am now educating someone else on the roses

That was amazing I made it as far as 'hot to trot' in Mansfield, but Oscars all nighters were pretty amazing on clacton pier in the early 90's.......aquarium & amusements were open! Fcuking mental! kanny 21,759
I've got a good few vinyl records stashed away not in great shape they have had some hammer I don't pay em no turntable but its great to look through them at the art work it triggers all sorts of memories. ...vinyl is unbeatable as long as its played on a £3000 + dedicated setup a half decent CD set up will beat anything less ...I think the resurgence is more to do with having a real touchy feely lookey item of your favourite music than it is to do with playing them and that's the quality that cd's or digital music will never have

Tbh I think we all got a bit carried away with sound quality thing. I know I did. Funny enough, a year or so ago I was in a Bang & Olufsen shop & asked about a turntable & the guy almost laughed in my face. He smugly informed me they hadn't made them in 10 years! Prick....haha...

A couple of mates had some serious setups 10k plus back then and to be fair the sound was incredible but i never got drawn into that I couldn't afford it i just had a marantz stack that did me fine.

I never did spend a lot on my set-up, a bit of a regret really & surprising, considering I've always been such a music junkie & like nice stuff :-) There always seem to be something else to blow money on...
