Quest 113
I use to live in Mesa Arizona for awhile. It gets really hot I mean really hot can be 90 at night time. The monsoon are something to behold when they come. You can get 7 inches of rain real fast. Also you've got to watch out for the dust storms if your driving its a dustbowl lol. The desert is real pretty. Oh there's hugh cockroaches that can dive bomb you and did I mention scorpions? You have to drive for miles to get anywhere but gas is cheap. My wife's house had a drive by shooting across the street. My truck got broken into and they stole my checks and get this they caught the guy trying to cash my checks and let him go. With all that said we move from there lol?. Seriously if you go and once you get there if you need some info on things to do leave a message. We can probably help you out on that.?

Quest 113
I'm still trying to navigate through this forum so... if I mess up please forgive me. Those are some nasty little buggers spiders you don't see them alot but the scorpions are all over. It's funny some places have them others don't. Not really a big deal if you dont have small children it's part of the territory. They use a blue light at night and go around there houses to find and get rid of them they can also live in the outside walls of the structure.

Mickey Finn 3,081
It's OK. It really depends what you are looking for. I'd suggest farther north for a vacation. Grand canyon, and surrounding area is pretty spectacular. Or you could come to Detroit and have some real fun.

Read that they run after you ,actually just trying to get into your shade, definately a species i wouldnt want in the uk! I've seen loads of them and yes they really do run after you. They are the fastest insect in the world (or one of them) they're not technically spiders as they have 10 appendages. They can kill scorpions as well and their jaws are huge and very powerful. I worked in the sahara for a few years and there was one place near the Libyan border that was full of them. The spotlights on the rig attracted insects and if you stood still for 2 or 3 minutes at dusk you would see them charging across the pad. I've had numerous times when I've had one run at me, I just legged it every time so I have no idea what they would do when they reach you lol but they're not seeking shade because they tend to come out as the sun is setting...it's could be vibration they're attracted to but then I've had it happen when I've been stood still. Some of them get enormous as well. I think they are bigger in Iraq and those areas as the biggest I ever saw was in Kurdistan (Turkey) near the Iraqi and Syrian border. On my last job overseas I was having a chinwag with someone and I saw movement from the corner of my eye....I knew exactly what it was and mid sentence legged it to the bemusement of my mate ha ha! I am an arachnophobe if you can't tell although after that the house spiders here don't bother me as much
Quest 113
Our reserve unit went over there to Afghanistan. I just got out so I didn't have to go but when they got back I was able to talk to one of my friends /soldier I thought he called them Camel spider ya they didn't sound nice. Utah is the place to go with all the parks we have. We live with in driving distance to most even the Grand Canyon.
Mickey Finn 3,081
Utah's pretty nice. Decent hunting, and a wide variety of terrain. Spent a little while in Logan and shot quite a few birds. By the way, I think Arizona has camel spiders as well. ATB
