Gaz_1989 9,539
I'm a salt water man myself. Them cat scratches do have a tendency to get infected though, I think it's something to do with how the nails harbour germs and shit when they extend and retract, so might be antibiotic job. Just keep an eye on it. 1 Quote Link to post

my hounds 316
If theres been a bite to me I would take the dog to the vets I know of some one who lost a dog due to a cat bite the puncture wound seals up on release from the bite so infection is set in. 1 Quote Link to post

Chid 6,835
Antibiotic only work once a infection occurs.no good giving it now if it's not infected yet.? Or am I'm getting me wires crossed To many people seem to think giving antibiotics as a precaution is a good thing , when in fact its not ... A good clean with hibiscrub , salt water or the likes is normally sufficient enough 5 Quote Link to post
mattyg 1,862
I Came very close to losing a dog from a single puncture wound to his upper front leg, within 90mins his leg had swollen to as thick as my arm and his eyes were rolling, his temp was through the roof and the commented that his fitness got him through it, it was a very stressful week. Keep a eye on the dog. Matt Quote Link to post
