NEWKID 27,042
You won the f***ing FA cup and as I say missed 4th by being beaten by a team that on almost any other night you would have beaten ffs ?? Honest to god......you couldn't make it up!! It's not about being some self styled expert or anything but I don't care who you are, when you are saying that's a shit season then you need to get hold of yourself......big time ! Lol...calm down big man lol lol Look LVG has been making it up, and obviously didn't know who to play or where, until injuries forced him to play youngsters. Next thing he's telling all and sundry that he done the same at Ajax with kids, forgetting hed signed £250k of world talent inc di Maria who is a great player and couldn't get them playing. Van persie gone, chicarito both off and scoring goals left right and centre... If it wasn't for stumbling on the young lads it would be mid table and no cup, he's a good blagger though lol No matter what team you support you expect something, avoid relegation, play great football, win the league etc.... Yes as Utd fans we've been spoilt but it don't mean you've got to put up with shit football, and even worse post match crap and not moan about it... That a big enough bite!! Lol Edited May 22, 2016 by NEWKID
gnasher16 30,022
Sorry mate but with all due respect I don't agree with you at all, it seems like you are saying they are entitled to it and IMHO they are not, no team is. The FANS are entitled to see the biggest most succesful club in England do better than 5th place in a league they have always dominated yes.........as a football team they are entitled to nothing they dont earn..........thats just sport. He didnt get it because any fan of any club worth a carrot knows his worth and all that he is good for......which he once again proved this season.
bracken boy 584
Wilf, as I've said if you think lvg is a good fit for utd then I'm horrified of your knowledge , I like your manager who at this moment in time is a good fit for the hammers,,, lvg football has been very very poor and in my view he's never been sure of style, attack, and game changing decisions so if he needs a taxi to airport then I might offer my services,, man utd do have good honest fans with a view and I'm that lol

I personally think we deserved nothing this season, so the fa cup is a very welcome bonus, but you shouldn't let that cloud your judgement.
WILF 46,489
West Ham used to do this fans forum thing where they went along and the manager say at a table and the fans asked them questions......theres a pretty famous clip of a fan telling Harry Redknapp that Frank Lampard was shit, wouldn't ever amount to much and was only playing cause he was family. Harry replied "well you are entitled to your opinion but let me tell you, that lad is going to be a top, top player" !! Van Gall has managed some of the biggest teams and biggest players in world football, he has managed one of the top countries at international level with all the great players that it can boast........and you are trying to tell me the bloke didn't know what he is doing? Now I know I'm a lone voice here boys ( not for the first time! Lol lol ) but I believe football men know football, and Van Gaal any way you cut it is a football man. You never know, someone, maybe Jose will come in and normal service will be resumed and you win everything again and all a right with the world and you can all say, I told you so but one bad season and it will be "off with his head" again.......sorry lads, but I'm just not that type of fan and I can't even begin to understand it. bracken boy 584
Wilf, apart from me giving it large at lvg I will also tell you this, man utds team isn't good enough at present, so whoever comes in will find it very hard so I hope they work hard to build a team in whatever way he needs too, the squad isn't as good as some Man U fans think, but hey it's been a blast so chow I'm off too bed. Come back in a couple of seasons when he's had time to buy players and shape the side.

bracken boy 584
Good post as always gnasher, with only 40 plus goals I'd say style of football the tempo of football and the speed of our skilfull so called midfield creatative brain thinking isn't there yet, I'm not laying it all on midfield but bastien, carrick, and Morgan isn't going to scare most teams and defo not European teams. Lab 10,979
Apart from some of the more deluded fans out there most know what position/level of football your club should be at. So if your one of the 'recognised' big 4 in the EPL you should be contesting that every season, along with cups and European football. As a fan that pays for season tickets and actually goes to the games they should be allowed to ask the questions if they think there are things wrong at there club......whether that is not spending money on new players or changing the under achieving management. Managers at these top flights clubs are paid lots of money....money to deliver silverware....or atleast show the paying public that they are moving in the right direction. If fans see that then they will get behind them, if not then they can expect the door to be open and another take there place.

Gnash, my point being just because as Utd fans we have had a great run of it, doesn't mean we can expect or be entitled to it. The club is in a transitional time, plus the premiership is awash with money, more so than any other league, so just spending is not the key to success. I wouldn't mind finishing 5th and winning the FA cup with a team I felt were really going to push on, but I think LVG has done this more with luck than judgement, Again LVG has not spent well, £250m and most have not performed, only Martial looks like the real deal... But also look at the top 4, who would have ever predicted that!! I
