mattwhite 1,993
Well I have been thinking long and hard about getting a pro sport later this year but wasn't in any big hurry as I'm usually preoccupied with the 100 lol, so it's been one of those thoughts that crops up when I see one. I was looking at them and the tx200 mk3 which have owned before in .177 and then was offered a mk3 tx200 hc in .22 flavour and beech stock tonight for the right money so snapped it up after confiring with a friend who knows his stuff......you know who you are! I haven't owned a .22 since I was 20 which is half my life ago now so I'm looking forward to pi#*ing around with pellet types and weights and head sizes etc on the garden range. The old boy I bought it from who I don't know has 2 lovely ultras in each caliber and is one of the nicest fellas I've ever met. Full of knowledge and tales, a proper character and wanted it to be used to its full potential...plus the fact I think he's glad to make a bit of space as they were taking over a bit! It came with a small nikko sterling so I put my 3-9×50 mountmaster on it for now and gave it a good polish up. One very happy lad indeed. Thanks for reading lads and any recommendations as to .22 pellet weight advantages would be welcomed as I can't really remember much about my .22 days?? 2 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,589
AIR ARMS Fields in 5.52 might be the pellet for this TX Matt? Looks a very nicely looked-after gun you've got for yourself here. 1 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Yep. AA Fields 5.52 will be basically it. Great choice and calibre. 1 Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
I do like those. I bought mine in .22, partly because I had a .22 springer when I was a kid. Mine likes FAPs. 1 Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
Is there a gun does not like FAPS? Wasps? Every head size known to man in a single tin! Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Definitely Fields in .177 cal for the TX but in .22 I would love to see Jonjon`s combination in action - FAP`s. atb p.s. yes Matt that looks a bargain, well done mate. 1 Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Thanks for the feedback fellas. I think the fella said he'd been running fields through his .22 ultra so I will guess and say probably the tx too so I will get some on the way home and give her a whirl. Apparently it's not done a full tin of pellets yet as it was a wee bit too heavy for him so it might pay to clean her out with patches and start from scratch. Quote Link to post

philpot 5,122
Very nice Matt, the stumpy mod seems to reduce the sound quite well even on the indoor range. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
