Silversnake 1,099
I am not disputing the benefits, in fact i love coconut for the taste especially cream and milk from a fresh green coconut. I also regularly drink %100 pure coconut water (no added sugar, not from concentrate) and i love it but after reading this thread i bought some organic virgin coconut oil and made a cup of tea and nearly vomited. Is there any other way to ingest it? It says it is meant for frying, is the stuff you get different and maybe tastes better?
DIDO.1 22,868
Im always sceptical about these fad superfood type things but ive Been using some organic virgin coconut oil to help treat symptoms of a condition I have ...I was told by a freind to give it a go to help with a sore cramping stomach and it seems to be doing the trick I've hardly had a pain for a couple of weeks now I highly recommend it if you have a stomach of a delicate disposition. ..anyone else tried it? no , but have gut probs, my doctor thinks i suffer with (ibs), can you buy this stuff over the counter .? Put a teaspoon of coconut oil in a mug with a teaspoon of Manuka honey. Add 1/4 mug of boiling water and stir until it's all dissolved. Then add just enough cool water so that you can neck it. It's not very pleasant but it's fairly manageable. I currently mix the Manuka honey and coconut oil with boiling water as above, add to protein shaker, add 500ml milk and 3 scoops of Huel powder. What a start to the day.
dodger 3,607
For those that suffer with ibs is it just bad guts that's the main problem or does it affect you in other ways such as dehydration or then affect say potassium levels leading to say Hypokalemia do your blood results always come back ok.. I've read a few articles about the 2 "super foods" combined and that they are more than the sum of their parts so to speak.
Saluki246 1,053
Does it matter if it is not organic, as i can get it in pure virgin form ? Edited April 28, 2016 by Saluki246
Gaz_1989 9,539
Does it matter if it is not organic, as i can get it in pure virgin form ? I reckon it's much the same mate. If that's what you can get your hands on then give it a bash. The food fats and benefits will be there. The "organic" will just be to do with how it's grown or sourced I guess.
