I wouldnt even say he was a poor boxer......as someone else said theres no disputing that straight right hand was a lethal punch......but the fact that no coach it seems could really get him to a higher level of technical ability suggests boxing just didnt come natural to him. Ive seen it a hundred times as has anyone thats spent a decent amount of time around boxing gyms......lads coming into gyms with great physical attributes.....knocking 7 bells out of a punch bag looking brilliant when they do it......but with a live opponent just cant put it all together, thats exactly what Wilder was.....walking around the ring with a javelin in his right hand that he just didnt know how to control and work. Its a shame in some ways but its nothing new in boxing gyms the world over.......again,the fact that the Yanks didnt have a big star in heavyweight boxing meant that Wilder pulled off one of the greatest hussles ive ever seen in the game....and good luck to him.

I agree with you gnash , it wouldn’t have mattered who trained wilder he wouldn’t have been any better of a boxer , I used to say to my pal when we watched Joseph Parker bumble through his fights that he needs to jump ship and get a new trainer, he never had a plan B , was always one dimensional imo , anyway he left Kevin Barry and joined Andy Lee , now a totally changed fighter , good to watch

I get that Parker wants a fight to keep the rust off while he waits for his title shot but the white rhino? Lol , id actually like to see Allen fight AJ , id give him a little bit more than a punches change with that one ..

So, which is it, usyk can fight, or he's garbage? Bearing in mind, he's 6 inches shorter than Fury, and at least 3 stone lighter, but in their 1st fight, had fury bouncing off the ropes looking like a pinball!!

Just because wilder is one of them, what makes him so special? Wilder has fought absolutely NO-ONE of any note, his whole career. And go and have a look at some of the pics from fury usyk 1, usyk hit fury into another dimension!! Edited June 29 by shaaark
