Hard of thinking ? Leftard ?

I'm quite offended at being called that - I might report you for an "ism" I haven't made up yet !

Because he MAY have done nothing illegal, doesn't mean he's done nothing wrong. His father was an acknowledged tax dodger (albeit legally), and he and his wife had offshore funds as recently as 2010.

Yet here we are, forced to live under constant cuts to services and benefits, because we're told the country is skint, while him and his old boy network stash their cash away from the taxman.

Unless you believe that were all in this together ?

The British government have just ironed out £9 million quid on leaflets telling everyone to vote to stay in the EU.......I bet everyone feels better about paying their tax now don't they ;)

That's why talking about tax in terms of morality is bollocks, because tax payers are meant to be "moral" but there is no morality when it's comes to pissing it away by the trillions !

Well it is an authoritarian economic philosophy. Tax avoidance is a result of a free and competitive tax market. Quite frankly I'm sick of reading in the media how a 'competitive' tax system is this terrible thing that we should all fight against like good little communists! Maybe rather than support the government being able to tax everybody whatever the hell they please we should support competition and therefore drive down our own domestic tax rates. Currently the system only benefits those in the position to pay to ultimately save money. If the lower classes were to accept that some people through their wealth simply have better options by virtue of being wealthy then we could all reap the rewards of a capitalist tax system.

Instead we fall to the same old politics of jealousy where anybody in the privileged position of wealth must have all the benefits that come with that stripped from them in the interests of 'fairness'.

A fair tax system wouldn't ask the successful to pay the majority of the taxes. Politics rarely has a grounding in fairness.

Well said BH, tax and morality have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

But there IS a morality involved when a PM demands that we all pay our taxes and makes a big deal of clamping down on the likes of Google and Starbucks, when he and his family have avoided taxes for years...........

The hunting with dogs ban is the perfect example it was never about cruelty but about class and working class dog men were expendable as long as they hurt the rich on the way.
