Rake aboot 4,936
Much as I hate the fecking things, I love them. I`ve had a few and got rid of most in a rage, swearing off them forever. I`m looking for a 300tdi 110 as we speak ! ffs. I built my first one on my driveway and wish I`d just kept the fecking thing. One thing is for sure, nothing will replace it. dogmad riley 1,348
A very sad day for Britain, a national heritage lost.???? They will probably be a new model that looks like the fecking range rover evoque or new disco sport they look identical just different names. Land rover has lost what it stands for

Born Hunter 17,910
As far as I'm aware they only have concepts as potential Defender replacements. None of which that I've seen I believe will be produced. New Disco 5 is out though I believe, being road tested. Follows the same styling as the Disco Sport. It's growing on me....... The new range rover is nice but the evoque, disco sport are fecking terrible.
Born Hunter 17,910
I'm not a fan of the Disco Sport, it's got a fat arse and looks soft. As far as Compact SUVs go I thought the face lifted FL2 looked more rugged. But I think the Disco 5 will grow on me, it's a more 'macho' version of the Sport. I do prefer the Disco 4 though, for the same reason I prefer the FL2 over it's replacement. The LR brand is just responding to the market. It's a very successful brand now and they're softening the looks to suit the market. Can't blame them. I reckon that the Defender replacement will be softened to fall in line with a lot of the twin cab trucks, i.e a commercial 4x4 that is more forgiving for social use, rather than an out and out no holds barred off-roader. But I wouldn't like to bet that they'll stray too far from the classic look, it's just too iconic imo and of huge value to the brand.

NEWKID 28,582
Used to drive a 40 year old defender dragging tons of steel on a f**k off great trailer, I was 19 or 20 at the time and the thing drove like shit, was slow as f**k, stank...... but f**k could it graft.. We were on our way to North Devon one day in it, I was laid in the back (couldn't sit up as it was only about 3 ft from the raised bed to the roof lol), me and another youngster in the back, the gaffer driving and an old boy in the front. I was fast asleep then a noise like thunder (only louder) woke me, the truck was pulled over and the back door flung open, my boss was stood there in welding gauntlets with the exhaust in his hands, " move over lads" with that the boiling hot exhaust was chucked in the already over cramped back, me and my mate were pressed against the walls trying not to get 3rd degree burns off the bloody thing! lol
