I am from a military family going back four generations socks. Unarmed civilians can't fight against bombs and bullets. Civilians are always victims in warfare. If I were in Syria constantly bombarded with bombs from different countries I'd be the first to get my family out.

I know the popular belief is that all refugees/ muslims are benefit scroungers/paedos/women molesters.Some of them will be dodgy b*****ds for sure. But the majority are genuine refugees and decent people. They are not trying to con anybody when they are floundering with their kids in the sea as you were suggesting.They are just people in dire circumstances.

It's people with this attitude that have ruined this country

there are estimated 20-30 000 isis fighters (thats a pretty fecking piss poor army) and yet hundreds of thousands of able bodied 18-30 year old males coming to europe; the west would happily supply all the arms and training they want in order to liberate their own countries yet they CHOOSE to leave. that says it all in my book. do we really want cowards of this sort in our country?

No not at all,their quite happy that those tentacles of scum are reaching to every part of the world ,probably peeing their selves laughing ,thinking of this once great country ,being converted to their backward standards ,every day we are weaker!

A mate in Luton said there was a march in luton last weekend ,and that all sorts were approaching marchers telling them to f-off this is their country now ,A MUSLIM COUNTRY!,Oh well i do like a ruby and of a useful working age ,will just get used to saying "yes mr Ali ,i will wash your bum properly!"

The sea bed is not flat even in the shallower water near the shore. The depth varies . There are holes and rises. The same is true of rivers and even lakes and resevoirs. Anybody who has done any wading when fishing will recognise this.

These people are escaping bombs and bullets. I think they would rather have their old lives back rather than risk their kids' lives in dangerous sea crossings. My reaction is always thank feck it's not me or my family.

I've donated a tenner to them via my phone. I feel sorry for them but I'm not mother Teresa. I thank God I was born white and a brit. Just luck.Doesn't stop me helping out others down on their luck.

If it were dogs and not people struggling in the sea there would be an outcry of sympathy.
