swg dave 334
Has anybody noticed lately the old Rabbit are digging in deep this season. I said to a friend about it that lives nearly 50 miles away from me and he has also noticed it. My pal come down to visit the other day and i mentioned it to him about the rabbits going deep so a bit later in the day after a bite to eat we take the old jooks for a walk down some old track where i have not been since last year, and as the other places ive been to these were also dug right out with my friend agreeing that they are deffinately digging in this season, it would be nice to hear if anybody else has noticed this with the warrens, sets, holes, of the rabbit, Cheers SWG DAVE.. swg dave 334
Wildlife can tell when something is on the way regarding the weather, also fellas keep a check on when you are gutting the rabbits with lots of fat round the kidneys. Also flocks of redwings that look very song thrush like being it a member of the thrush family, these are all good indications of bitter cold weather. What other signs for cold weather are there that indicates a cold winter that you know,,, PLEASE SHARE, DAVE. Quote Link to post
MickyB 327
its certainly cooling down at night now and with the apparent el nino on its way we may be in for a cold and dry winter maybe our quarry knows more than us! I have struggled to come to terms with much game so far this season and i don't think its a lack of numbers they just don't seem to move far from cover at all locally regardless of what time im out. stealthy1 3,964
I've noticed that on hot summers the rabbits dig deeper, I thought it was to avoid the heat, but I've been informed it's because the ground cracks and when it rains it pours into the cracks forcing the rabbits to go deeper to avoid getting wet. Over to the scientists. 1 Quote Link to post
