At least one mayor fcukwit has been trying for years to get them to accept them all under the bullshite banner of "brian's dying wish" .. with the politics and closed registry its probably much worse than KC than KC itself ...

Dawn B 212
The Jack Russell terrier has been registered showed for many many years in other countries. ireland included. They are popular on the continent and in Australia. The KC will adapt the breed standard laid down for them, they dont invent it!!These dogs do NOT have bent front legs, nor luxating patellas, its breeders, usually pet breeders that stuff up breeds not the bloody kennel club!!
The one 8,594
Thought Eddie Chapman registered all his ?. It wont have any effect on the true working Russell they guys will keep them still be able to show them at hunt shows etc , the big difference is when they get registered the wee queen anne legged dogs will leap up in price when they see registered dog prices

You're right Dawn, but those two letters K and C are the difference between £££ and £££££££££. Also the words Breed Standard have two completely meanings between those work their dogs and those who think they know what they should look like (for nothing more and nothing less.). So the KC adopts what they see as a dogs "ideal" standard but it's fashionable judges that dictate what's fashionable and what's not. If this wasn't the case then no type of dog would ever have changed in appearance over the years. Simple as that. It all boils down to money, money ,money and maybe a bit of uneducated pride. Dawn B 212
I dont agree Neil. The KC do not register CockerPoos, Cavachons, Jackapoos, Puggles, Labradoodles and all the other cross breeds that frequently sell for over £800.00 to £1000.00 per pup! Its greedy people who see an opening in a market and exploit it.The Kennel Club dont write breed standards, they never have. You cannot expect for one moment for dogs to be bred by people who "appreciate" their breeds heritage, because lets be honest, most of them dont!! I run the stand for my breed at Crufts (discover dogs) you would be AMAZED at how many people who own these dogs do not have a clue what they were bred to do, yet complain they chase, bark and kill small things they catch!!I agree re uneducated people, but the breeder who sells them puppies are to blame, not the kennel club. The "doodle" and "poo" breeders have used the kennel club and pedigree dog "status" purely to breed mongrels at a high price and claim health and welfare because they are cross bred. they cant call them crossbreeds though cos they wouldnt sell would they? So they make these names up and charge the earth!! These are the people destroying dogs not breeder who health test and show dogs, because at least these people put a bit of effort in whereas the bloke up the road couldnt give a toss! Of course it's the kennel club its there name on the pedigree of the pile of shite these pet breeders breed. Pet breeders will buy stock some working some not and breed breed breed! And then the kennel club registers it. Hence kc registered they alow breeds to get ruined and do nothing end of!! Edited October 18, 2015 by stevo79
neems 2,406
People who breed for show actively destroy the breed they claim to love imo, unless they can absolutely guarantee their shitehounds blood won't reach working types. Which they can't.
