marshman 7,758
lee you come on here saying you took to much heed of me and saying you was green that sounds to me like you did hold me responsible that's all . Now I know you've dug the dog twice in holes large enough for him and honestly I'm pleased for you. I'm calm like the Fonze lol Quote Link to post

smithwicks 182
14 years ago I bred a litter of 7 and after I picked my pup I was giving 5 to friends and said I'd keep the last one of them as my 2nd pup. The lads came to look at the litter and straight away one of the lads stood on one of the pups toes and this pup sat in the corner crying the whole time the lads were there. As a result she was the pup that I was left with. She's Dixie, now 14, living in the house enjoying retirement and what I wouldn't give to be able to turn the clock back 10 or 12 years. She was NOT the pick of the litter And how did the rest of the litter turn out? Just go's to show pick of the litter dont mean much! Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
It was a good litter Smithwick, but the other bitch I kept for myself ,Banner, didn't make the grade. So thankfully I had Dixie, LOL. One other bitch in that litter also lived to a good old age (despite a hard working life and getting crossed with a car) and the lad who had her still has some of her blood about him and I recently got a PM of another member to say a litter bred this year went back to her too. I hope they do their ancestors proud. That's all I want to hear. Dixie's mother was Pip who I bred from 4 times to 4 different dogs and pups out of all 4 litters done their breeding proud. Out of Dixie I got 2 very good daughters one of which I retired after 3 seasons but I still have the other and I would never part with her. I have a useful daughter of hers here that might just be up their with as good a foxing bitch I've had. But, I'm waiting nearly two years now for Dixie's daughter to break down and as she's 7 now I'm beginning to get very worried. 2 Quote Link to post
pablo esc 1,598
Was the any breeding in the ancestors or did you just took them, how you went along, or? Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
Pablo, I had Dixie's grandfather and seen all her grandparents, some Gt. Grandparents and many more. Friends owned those generations before that. There's no point in knowing half the story IMO. 1 Quote Link to post
timmy k 593
This is none of my buisness and I couldn't really care but I wouldn't have a pup that's been bred from a dog with two digs under his belt. Quote Link to post
Zilverhaze 1,627
The dogs not had 2 digs of what I can gather mate.. it was on trial as a 100% dog and was dug to and done well but also false marked a couple of times on the trial.. since then leethedogs dug it a couple of times Quote Link to post
timmy k 593
I thought I read somewhere it's a yard dog now and he's dug it twice since. I might be wrong but I'm not all that concerned to bother routing though old posts. It's his pup and his choice just not what I'd go for 1 Quote Link to post
fat man 4,741
As long as the rest of the litter are not advertised and sold as working bred pups no harm done, its Lee who has to feed and clean the shit after it and who knows it could turn out to be a good grafter. 1 Quote Link to post
Zilverhaze 1,627
I don't no goat for all I no the dog chuld of had a Load of digs before lee got him not really to fussed what goes on in other peoples yards tbh pal was just pointing out that the dog was on trial as a 100% dog and less dug it a cuple times since the trial Quote Link to post

People seem to breed dogs to quick just to get pups without thinking about the mating properly as has been said lee didn't breed the dog at all I just know the men that did and I've been after a bitch for a good while I have tried to get one from a couple of places both good working types but if had no luck at all in my attempts either no bitches in the litter or all spoken for so like I said to dillydog some of us don't have many contacts and have to do the best with what we can get all I want is a smallish bitch and who knows no one can tell she might work Quote Link to post
