Popular Post matt1979 766 Posted June 10, 2015 Popular Post Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) I will apologize in advance for the amount of photo's i put up of the pup as he grows, but the fact that i have waited so long for a running dog might help explain. I have spent most of the adult life in the armed forces and never really felt what with moving around alot and out of area stuff, it would be fair to have a working dog, so despite having grown up surrounded by lurchers, greyhounds and terriers of various guises i held back the urge and simply got a couple of pet dogs essentially, which are now in their oap phase of life but hanging on. I have enjoyed their company to be fair and they have traveled all across the UK with me, lived in god knows how many houses and walked lots of local parks, fields, public footpaths etc. Anyway a couple of years back i decided to leave the armed forces, move back up to my family and hopefully build some roots. I had planned to see out my old pet dogs and then move onto a new generation of working dogs having settled down, but last year a gave in and got myself a little terrier pup (now 14 month old) alongside the pets. I guess it was the enjoyment from her, reigniting how much fun a pup is to bring on and how well she has done already, meant against my better judgement (4 dogs is more than i would ideally have) i recently took the plunge again and got my first running dog to work alongside the terrier in the future. It has been over 10 years since i first planned a little pack of workers, so you can hopefully excuse me for being overly keen to share. I have ended up with hopefully 2 little workers from the new generation and the oap's which enjoy the craic (SLT terrier, Lurcher, Schauzer, Bouvier) Here are a few pictures of the 2 of them and the old generation pet dogs alongside. terrier as a pup young runner get on well terrier at about 6 month showing some interest filled out nicely Flat out after a wander with the boss prating about roll on the winter cheers for looking atb Matt Edited June 10, 2015 by matt1979 21 Quote Link to post

Get him 'out and about' and allow him to experience everything ,..and I do mean everything What you do now,.will impact upon the rest of his life...so make his education,..sensible, but comprehensive.. matt1979 766 Posted June 10, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 Cheers Phil will do my best with him, I have him out on his own as much as possible and in fairness in ain't half as confident on his own, but I have found that with all my dogs to be fair. Think I have a decent bond with him to date and it helps that he seems pretty chilled out and trainable. I always prefer a pup this time of year as I find it helps socialise them as the days are long and you can get out an about see more people etc more easily. He has whippet, grew and collie in the mix, just a small lurcher essentially with a lot of whippet blood atb 2 Quote Link to post

Training so far so good he seems to have taken to me and is a likeable fella which always helps with training I think. In the flesh he is a bit slighter than the photos look and their is more than a hint of saluki about him. To the best of my knowledge their isn't any in the line but who knows. I just liked the parents new a bit about them and they did the job I want of him which is just mooching rabbit dog really atb never really been one for worrying too much about what's in them as long as they have the drive and physique. Went with mainly whippet loos to get the size I was after hopefully make about 22tts. He is about 17-18 tts at 5 month be interesting to here what other think he will make a well cheers Quote Link to post
