walshie 2,804
My personal view is the the person who believes himself/herself to be possessed, also believes that exorcism will cure them. And if all churches perform them, does that mean that each religion is right in their beliefs? Exorcism is very dangerous walshie, people die in the process, ive never seen other religons do these apart from catholic priests, what other religons do exorcims op, thanks Most of the Christian churches perform it, as do hindus, muslims and jews to name a few. If they didn't, would that mean that there are only demons in the RC faith? And as they do, doesn't it prove that these "demons" can be kicked out by any religion? ChrisJones 7,975
what are your views and experiences This month in Las Vegas I had the dubious pleasure of managing the private security for an evangelist that charges $30US, a ticket, so suckers can be healed. As much as I'd like to name and shame, I can't. They make so much money, at these events, they have discreet armed security and the weekends takings are removed by an armed cash handling company. Two of my lads were patrolling the premises and could here a commotion from one of the rooms. On inspection an exorcism was being rehearsed! The same woman was later excorcised infront of an audience of a few thousand. I had the dubious pleasure of watching said excorcism on recorded CCTV footage. As I've never had any evidence presented, of angels, or demons, I dismiss it as superstition. My current view is that I think exorcisms are a great revenue/fear generator for suceptible members of certain parishes. Fear of demonic possession is a good way to keep people on the straight and narrow. Not to mention keep the coffers full for those offering insurance against such events.
mr scent 665
I used to dabble in it years ago but I witnessed things happening whilst doing the ouija board that put the fear of God in me , we contacted an old friend of mine that died in an accident and he basically told me stay clear and never try it again .A picture fell off the wall another morning when we asked for a sign as well . People may not believe it or not but I know what I saw with my own two eyes each to their own I suppose . A friend of mine was witnessing things going on in his house a few months ago and doors closing on their own ,he even took pics all around the house and a face could clearly be seen in a few pics . To cut along story short he tried to contact the spirit in his house and now he's in the local loonie house since last week .He swears that something stayed with him after he had finished the ouija board.Yee can call me nuts all he like I know what I've seen and heard but I'd never try convince anyone what they should think I always say just keep an open mind

ChrisJones 7,975
Ouija boards?! Evidence of demonic possession? Or evidence of the ideomotor effect? I try to remain open minded but I'd really like to see some evidence.

I try to remain open minded but I'd really like to see some evidence. Then there's the question - do people go mad because of the ouija board, or do they see/hear things because they were mad to begin with? I remember you used to be able to buy ouija boards in toyshops when I was a kid. My mate had one. We never managed to summon anything except my mate pushing the pointer round to spell rude words. ChrisJones 7,975
I think every house around here has one! Almost like they're issued with them! Widespread demonic possession hasn't happened... Unless of course it's the greatest trick the devil ever pulled...
mushroom 14,143
Know a couple of stories re ouija boards. A very honest guy built like a brick shithouse once told he had his finger on this glass with a chick in front of witnesses and he was pushing against on purpose the glass was still moving towards before breaking.
