Rake aboot 4,936
The guy will be creaming a profit after getting a bumped up quote outside the insewerance claim. Cheeky cnut. Remind him that his policy will get a no fault loading next year if it goes through the insewerance so he would be better letting you get it fixed at a garage of your choice. Failing that, nut him for being a cheeky cnut

Stobarts don't have insurance. They will have just paid the claim themselves.
bobcullen79 1,495
Same thing has just happened to a mate, only cost him £400 for his tiny dink . Never admit liability, especially in a car park.

Stobarts don't have insurance. They will have just paid the claim themselves. Not strictly true, they will have the bare minimum third party insurance to be legal, it's just they'll cover the cost of all their claims in house. Most big hire car companies and other large organisations with hundreds of vehicles do the same..
MoChara 1,632
What a complete ass - sounds more out for the money don't he.. Hope you get it sorted your way. And hope your missus is ok, I'm sure she's at her wits end with all that.
Lid 194
To avoid all doubt, if private land is publicly accessible by vehicle, such as a car park or campsite, then the provisions of the road traffic act apply, which includes insurance, speed limits, drink driving, etc.
dodger 3,589
Thanks for the comments think all I can do right now is ring round for quotes this mornin n other than that have to to go through insurance n she'll have to put it down to experience, he must definitely be takin the piss n tryin to cream a profit from it but it's a tricky one to do much about I mean obviously I won't be payin anywee near the 1500 he mentioned but I can't really stop him lapin any juicy insurance claim up I don't think, misses is now sayin he was in the wrong lane as in the outwards lane instead of the entry lane in the car park why she didn't tell me that yesterday before I rang the guy I don't know, but seems like there's no cctv so I don't think that will make any odds anyway, oh n I did mention to him yesterday about both the premiums goin up if go the insurance route but he just said the company he works for pay his insurance so won't apply to him.. Thanks again..

They self insure by depositing £500k with the Supreme Court, but there is no insurance policy and no insurance company.
