fireman 11,412
Was out yesterday after a bird pinching fox,the bugger has taken along with game birds, some black swans and they ain't cheap so had a wonder and saw her above ground with 2 very big cubs,so it's out with the rifle and the terriers missed this boat this time....Mind you if it's still raining tomorrow as well the earths will be getting looked at for activity that's for sure .. 1 Quote Link to post

MIK 4,763
I found where she dropped here cubs the place was littered with kills and looks directly on the chicken sheds she must of moved them in there as I checked it a few weeks ago .....this is a big old spot that ive never been shallower that 4-5ft so just spied it and will return tomorrow when its drier ....hopefully pick up the dog or vixen tonight .... getting back to kills outside dens what is some of the more unusuall stuff you have found at cubbing dens ...ive had a heron ,cat, ferret ,calves tail, salmon a few years ago a large mcdonalds juice cup with lid and straw . fireman 11,412
Tawny owl,Australian black swans are the two oddest this year but we were there because of the swans going missing,as well as game birds and the usual bits and bobs.. Quote Link to post
morton 5,369
I used to go digging cubs when I was a little boy then I grew up tell the farmer terriers got kennel cough And the farmer will then get somebody without a tickly cough and naive conscience to do a mans work, the sign of a good terrierman is their reluctance to take satisfaction from the dirtier tasks the naive shun. 1 Quote Link to post
morton 5,369
I have the unfortunate job of looking for cubs this afternoon after farmer snared the vic for lamb killing .The size of lamb killed is bigger than ive ever seen but defo a fox .Farmer saw cubs last night abòut cat size so may be spread out a bit .This is a place that i hammer all year with rifle and dog ,all earths checked early spring but still theres a litter moved from elsewhere no doubt Im just back from London picking up a new truck and my shoot is on a farm that has 350000 free range layers and got a call from farmer they lost hens last night .....so will go and have a look at the usual spots ...so better get the water proofs on as you wouldnt put a milk bottle out in this ...pissin down up here ...this wont be much fun .then out with the night vision tonight I realise you live down in the sticks Mik,yet id have thought a good Scottish dealership may have furnished your needs,c,mon England and our London dealerships,or is it the dumb Capital was not prepared for a canny Scot?.
