tomburras 2,730
Personally for what they cost and cost to use, I'd buy that project BSA lightening on the for sale section. Give it some talc and it would be a miles better gun at rat catcher ranges and beyond. 2 Quote Link to post

And also imagine popping a co2 every time you go out and there's nowt about - very irritating. Quote Link to post
tomburras 2,730
Oh and also to add without sounding a nob or anti co2 - I fancied a go with co2 and it was the most dissappointing time of my airgun shooting career. Oops I'm on a rant lol but they where sh!te Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
I got one for my mates kid ,the reason he is small and young so he could shoot it . the gun is small and eazy to handle for sure but the trigger is terrible .Or the one on the gun I got it is , the spring could be shortened or replaced with a weaker one .The gas is a bit of a problem cost and temperature dependent .......BUT on a warm day the gun is amazingly accurate .If you have money to burn for a bit of fun they are ok ....if you wont a gun to shoot a lot regularly summer and winter dont bother . Slippery_Weasel 460
I used one of the bog standard ones for years as my main air rifle, when they first came out. They are what they are... Cheaply made and lack power, terrible trigger with the crapest little scope ever. I always found the accuracy good and provided you keep the range down to a minimum, I found it very effective. Being able to put it inside a wax jacket had obvious benefits as well 1 Quote Link to post

Coypu Hunter 486
I have several CO2 plinkers, and they're fun to use. The trigger's an easy fix on the Ratcatcher. The real issue is power -- the max power is quite low, and will drop dramatically in cold temperatures. If you have a a youngster getting into shooting, or a barn full of close-up rats or pigeons where you don't want to be shooting holes through the walls & roof, then the Ratcatcher could be ideal. If you're looking for a reliable, all-weather vermin rifle, then it would not be ideal. 1 Quote Link to post
John Stott 202
Better a few pounds more spent on an Ultra or such like. I have never rated Co2 as a propellant for anything other than the fun pistols. That said its convenient to use, but for serious all season work its rubbish. Quote Link to post
