Bell Iron

Recommended Posts

went for little early walk with dogs this morning , and the ground was like bell iron , it was hard to walk on it , never mind a dog trying to run on it. I was very glad I didnt see anything as it would have smashed there feet, I did keep my younger dog on the lead fair bit , as he bloody head strong and will try to get out to far in front, my older dog must have thought fook it and didn't move to far from me lol . I had bad back all week , but didn't realise that it would give me agro until I got back in, must have the jarring on my lower back when walking , feeling it now. and yet now the sun out looks nice day , going to hobble around for a 1 hour again with the dogs, going to put me boots on instead of wellingtons , maybe that might be better on me old back .lol anyway be careful with your dogs out like the ground as it is , as you have to protect them for there own good, more so if there bloody mad like this mad bugger ive got

Was out myself last night with my pup. Fooked my back up the Saturday before Xmas couldn't walk till Xmas Eve. Hard work walking out in the cold, had to watch out for any small ice patches, as one slip and I could of been back to square one (like someone putting an electric cattle prod or taser on my lower back and putting it on full whack). there was plenty of soft ground for him to excersise though.

My pup won't walk ahead of me at all at the moment, and the only way to give him a good run out is throwing something for him to retrieve. Hard graft throwing it with my back though :icon_redface: .

So all in all we we both needed the excersise. So I know exactly how you feel bird, they say dont rest up on your back, keep it moving, walking, stretching the muscles etc, don't know who made that one up because mine felt worse than when I went out :hmm:

Got to work mine in all conditions unfortunately ... I was working in a shaded area today so the ground was rock hard all day ... Luckily the dogs have got real good feet ... The pup was happy to be put in the truck at midday for nap though lol ......

I've just set up my Heath Robinson anti-barking device using the garden hose and now the cold snap means it won't work as the pipe is frozen. D'oh! Fortunately, having three kelpies, their feet are ok on anything from frozen ground to sun-baked clay and building site remains!

I only bent down to get something out of my pups mouth and thats how it went. Just of well I was in the house because I was virtually paralysed for about 40 mins. Same here suffered for years with it, just goes now and again. Pains down my groins into my bollox, any sudden movement and it goes into spasym.

But still going on a good walk with my pup tonight with one of my old mates, and a hot flask. If the ground is bad I can just go on the beach. Clear as fook here tonight 1c to -1c. Just as well he doesn't bomb ahead of me because he probably would end up like us two.
