treecreeper 1,136
Certain animals are ilegal to relase and if your doing a job and have permission you have no issue. Obviously don't go waving it around but not doing what you need to do for fear of antis etc is letting them win. Quote Link to post
Coypu Hunter 486
These days carrying a pistol is asking for problems if the wrong person sees you. When I had a lurcher, I would take the trap to a open area and release what ever from the trap. Never heard of concealed carry? Quote Link to post

Funny because I was always under the assumption that was dodgy ground releasing an animal from confinement to be coursed by a dog or dogs! Quote Link to post

The one 8,583
When we first started shooting at the uni here where that many rabbits at the roadside the other guy that shoots them just drove along shooting them with a air pistol rather than try to use a air rifle like we do now he made really good bags till they wished up as well Quote Link to post
shergar 42
Did the other guy drive a Cadillac escalade with blacked out Windows . Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
Almost any half decent pistol will be fine, and you certainly don't need/want a full 6ft lb offering for dealing with caged rats/squirrels at close range. As for putting in pellets the wrong way round, a practice I have never been easy with, and one that will in the majority of cases reduce the overall power output. Shot placement is important, especially with a squirrel, and anyone who has tried will know fully well they seldom stay still long. If you must use a hollow point, then may I suggest you buy some, any debate about accuracy is somewhat pointless when shooting at just a few inches. Quote Link to post

To ensure that whatever your dispatching in a cage is confined and can't move about. Allowing you to get clear and clean shot placement. Quote Link to post
