Snp Third Largest Party In The Uk....

Recommended Posts

Theres alot of stuff getting mentioned up here at the moment about the likes of the snp and greens being refused a place on the tv debates coming up.

Snp membership has soured recently since the 18th from 25,000 to 82,000, greens also picked up a few more members are a uk wide party, that still doesnt look enough for the likes of bbc etc to include them in the debates with likes of labour, tories, libs, ukip

A recent poll from a uk elect website now has the snp oncourse to be the third biggest party in the uk after the general election. Heres the current prediction:

Labour 291
Conservatives 265
SNP 38
Liberal Democrats 23
UKIP 9
DUP 8
Sinn Féin 5
Plaid Cymru 3
SDLP 3
Greens 3
Others 2

If it happens, still early days.. It makes things very interesting... Going on the above theres a chance of it being a labour/snp coalition.... ( waits for a few members to regain breath )

What do yous reckon, should the snp and greens be included in the debate and is there chance of snp joining up with labour?( no chance it would be tories )

They couldn't have the snp on a televised debate ... No fukcer would understand a word they were saying lol ........

It was so much easier in the old days when a northern Baron would just raise an English army and quash rebellious Scotsmen like you Joe.

All utilities should be run as national industries. But run as profit making companies. The profits that those industries make now would then go a long way to helping the NHS to become a flag ship on

As an aside, I heard something very interesting today.......

Power companies buy electric from themselves as they own the generators and the service supply !!........now this strange turn of events means they can hide the true profit margin they earn out of every customer as they can charge themselves what they like for the electric !!!

How did this strange turn of events come to pass?

Well, when first privatised they had to put it all in a central pool and all pay the same.........then 1997 and Blair came along ;)

And.....

In order to pander to coal mining areas the Labour Party did a deal that would let the power companies ALSO own the generator companies (which the conservatives had not allowed them to do) in return for them promising to buy coal instead of cheaper gas !!

This means that we are left now with the so called "big 6" who pretty much pull every fuckers pants down.

Power to the people and the working man huh brothers !!! Lol ;)

I don't think you can "re-privatise" something that's already private......that's called stealing (or appropriation of private individuals property by the government)

Come to think of it, sounds right up any politicians street !! Lol lol

I think Sandy meant re-nationalise, possibly.

Anyway, we all know how good the govt are at running industry........ Nationalising essential industry makes all the sense in the world on the face of it, unfortunately historically it hasn't quite worked out as well as it should.

Sorry to say, Wilf, but you CAN; it's called a "compulsory purchase order". It's happened many times in the past when the government has wanted to build or expand something, and houses and businesses have be bought weather the owners wanted to sell or not.
