Born Hunter 17,909
He's obviously no longer a killer. But Prison is about punishment as much as it is about public safety. And imo such a murderer should be put to death. So being let out after 30 years is less than adequate for the crime imo. As for Police lives being more valuable than the rest, that's bollocks. A life is a life.... and whether or not I like that particular flavour of person matters not. Without Police we'd be f****d... so where do you stand with sgt blackman if a life is a life? LOL, I had a thread up not a month ago trying to get signatures for his release. Where do you think I stand?
YOKEL 2,343
78yr old man who's served 48yrs in nick. that's 18yrs more than his sentence. the parole board would have assessed the danger he now poses and think him suitable to be released. no brainer in my eyes.... Yokel.
bracken boy 584
however he did it to me dosnt matter he killed three so the longer he was away the better, he knew there would be a chance that things could go wrong so foook him...
torchey 1,328
Surely if you kill 3 people wether old bill or not you don,t expect to see the outside again
Brigzy 1,298
He murdered 3 people who got in the way of him doing a bank job.... (the fact they are police officers is neither here nor there) That's three people who didn't go home to their families.... I'd have shot the c**t quite frankly. Understand your point to be honest noone can say what he done was a good thing. Thing is if they wanted him locked up forever that should of been the sentence not 30 years IMO. His hardly going to live long anyway his done his bird. I wonder how he will handle the freedom after that long inside. Would be good to see him interviewed and see his opinion on things that have changed. Hearing a police man on the tele now sort of reminds me why I have an underlining dislike for them. Maybe up bringing or just being a man but way the police officers seem to think I have nothing in common with em. Also is a police mans life worth more or are we not all equal? The judge DID give an indefinite sentence, and said he should NEVER be released. The parole board seems to have overuled the judge.
dare 1,103
I thought he was given a minimum 30 not minimum life meaning life?
Brigzy 1,298
I thought he was given a minimum 30 not minimum life meaning life? The judge recommended he never be released. Perhaps it was not binding, and the parole board think they know better.
sussex 5,803
To my mind if the judge recommended he should not be released that's the call , its all very well years later saying he's no danger let him go but where does that leave the likes of Ian Huntley , Lee Rigbys killers etc etc ...are we to see these pieces of shite grace our streets again when they are no longer deemed a danger ..had they hung all the above as they deserved we wouldn't have the problem now ...
marshman 7,758
I wonder if he was an IRA killer if he'd of been let out years earlier just a thought .

Kill someone for your own personnel reason you'll go away for a lot longer if you done it for a political reason .
bell 3,608
If the government don't want you out then you ain't getting out......fact. This old lad is no longer a news worthy celeb prisoner, his crimes were not so twisted as to repulse the average bod in the street therefore there is no argument to be put up to keep him in. Poor old buggar having to adjust to life on the out, having to function for himself.......reckon he'd rather stay put lol Bell
Poacherspocket 189
Dont know f**k all aboutbhim but if hes shot 3 people that got in the way of a bank job or whatever then he should have been put to sleep. If it was an animal he would have been 6 foot under. Its us (or most of us) idiots Thats been paying for him to be kept alive in prison for what exactly. Hes no use to society what so ever. Too much human rights these days and society is nothing but unfair. Good honest people get nothing and all the scrotes and foriegners with no interest in ever working get everything. f**k the lot of them.

Good honest people get nothing and all the scrotes and foriegners with no interest in ever working get everything. f**k the lot of them. Our country is run by criminals most if not all from way better backgrounds than 99% of the criminals. It may sound immature and stupid but I quite like hearing about people who didnt wanna just play ball. If this case was a bloke robbing a bank and noone got hurt I'd actually say good luck to him. If the chance was there to make proper money from something like a bank job and you believed you'd get away with it your telling me you wouldn't have a go? Bit different than mugging an old dear for her handbag. Good luck to those who don't just wanna get a job and struggle to pay the bills and be happy with a holiday once a year( if your lucky). Me personally I couldn't be locked up with the low life's and thick people but I don't knock anyone who gives it ago beating the system.
