For what it's worth, I have read all the alleged accounts of what happened and there seems to be different stories for each account. The fact of the matter, as has been previously stated, he was found guilty of rape.

 

When i was younger it was not unheard of to wake up, thinking where the hell am I, and did I really do that? I am sure a few that I have woken up with have said the same thing to themselves. But, does the fact that we both shit faced and can't remember make it alright? Cos if not, there are a hell lot of rapists out there.

Years ago, a mate of mine was in Kenya with the army........my pal was a snco and a couple of them including a young lieutenant got on the local homemade hooch and apparently it was pretty powerful stuff.

 

At some point in the evening the young Lt passed out and thinking it would be a good crack the rest of the assembled revellers decides to insert the first few inches of a coke bottle or some such thing up his jacksy (as you do when a group of lads get up to mischief)........when they decided they had had their fun they try and get it out only to find the muscles had contracted so a tug of war insewed !!

 

Was my pal a rapist or was he part of a group having some outrageous crack ??

 

According to most on here, he is a sex case..........except he isn't is he ..........he was part of a group totally out of it getting up to naughty stuff !!

 

If however they had dragged this Lt fully conscious down an alley and stuck the bottle up him.......them he is defiantly a wrong in, no doubt about it .

 

I laughed at the first story, but I would have hit him over the head with a pool cue if he had told me the second story!!!

 

And that, is the essence of this whole thread........no different in my eyes

I believe at the time the three of them had been drinking copious amounts,in such circumstances who is the most responsible adult?.He was found guilty and paid the price,after his release the board for the miscarriage of justice were allowed to make an early appeal,why is that?,anyhows if the findings are not overturned then I think he should still be allowed to earn a wage,the price of democracy,he will get some stick from the field,the terraces and will never be able to venture out without the probability of taking a kicking,guilty or not.Who,d employ a rapist?.

Yes Wilf I agree lads do get upto stupid things haven't we all, the thing that makes my blood boil on this is he had the attitude of "I'm a footballer I can do what I want" well news flash Ched NO YOU CANT. To be honest I think both of them should have been done. I've done some pretty stupid things in my time but to take advantage of a lass whilst she's half pissed out of her mind no I will leave that to pond scum.

 

And as for well she shouldn't have been in that situation in the 1st place not she shouldn't and I would hope my daughter is brought up with the values I gve her not to be in that situation however if we look at any crime, taking a wallet out of the pocket of a person is theft irrespective of whether their pissed or not...he should not have done what he did and I'm sorry but just because he's a footballer shouldn't give him more rights than anyone else. As I said before if I had been convicted my career would be over full stop.

Fair play seeker, but my understanding is that he owned up........hardly how a full time predator cracks on.

 

And looking at it, he got a "guilty" because he was a pro footballer not in spite of it.

 

I don't condone any of it for one millisecond but when you see people writing "nonce scumbag" etc etc I just think it's a bit over the top in this particular case.
