No Tax Disc

On this new thing where you dont have to have a tax disc . Number plate recognition will tell police that say a green landrover plate number 123 ABC is taxed and insured but it dosnt say if its that one ? How does it work if there are two with the same number ?

If they have the same number plate then one is a ringer.

yes i know but how would the police ? if you have no tax now they look at the disc if theres no disc how are they going to know also the man in the street or traffic wardens wont be able to see if a car is taxed

Can you get roaming internet on your phone? Traffic wardens and police are constantly in touch with the PNC computer.

Its not really different to how it is now.

 

If the Police do an ANPR check with a camera as long as registration matches the type of vehicle and its shown as being insured and MOT'd then it will pass, only where the vehicle is ANPR'd in York but is registered in Cardiff for example would thispotentiall warrent further investigation by the Police who may choose to stop it and question the driver about the vehicle which is when the exact details would be checked. Registered owner etc.

You don't display your insurance or MOT, so i don't see the difference.

Yes you do because you cant get a tax disc without both

 

 

Insurance and MOT only have to be valid on the day you buy your tax disc. They could be invalid for the other 364 days.
