villaman 9,982
Had my best shot ever , a free standing shot at 54 yards and the rabbit went down with one kick . Really pleased with the shot, considering last night had 14 shots on 14 different rabbits , from 30 -50 yards and missed them all and found out it was out of zero by 25 mm . Quote Link to post

villaman 9,982
Sounds like a fluke to me...... I would agree with you if I had a Daystate , but we are talking about a HW100kt .22 and know bloody fluke ether ,just pure skill on knowing my set up and what I am capable of doing 1 Quote Link to post
jamesS410 106
Nicely done I think that's often the way it is, if you have a bad session then next time you pick the rifle up you take the shot in a fairly resigned fashion, no expectations, and because of that you loosen up and don't over think things so it all comes together. The main thing is that if you've broken your duck, so to speak, your confidence gets a boost and hopefully puts you back on track 1 Quote Link to post

I would agree with you if I had a Daystate , but we are talking about a HW100kt .22 and know bloody fluke ether ,just pure skill on knowing my set up and what I am capable of doing I read alot about the weihrauch a quality air rifle by all accounts, i use a meteor mk7 22, break barrel springer, deadly on rats ,noticed the dogs were very unsettled at night something was annoying them,, shot nine rats about my yard in two weeks, money well spent on that bsa and ideal for around your property. Very hard to get a decent review on this particular air rifle any ideas? I use the bisley magnum pellets and find them pretty decent at quick humane kills. Quote Link to post

David.evans 5,323
A bad work man allways blames his tools , nothing to do with day states lol Measure twice and cut once ( I think that's the saying ) anyway that's a great shot free standing at that range Atb Dave Quote Link to post
RobJ 10
Hi Chaps I don't post on here often (I probably should to be fair as this over any other forum provides by far the best reading). I'm a mate of Villaman and while I wasn't there if he said he took the shot, then he took the shot. Mitch practices constantly, rain or shine, more than anyone I know and is out in the field all the time. So this shot is totally believable in my opinion. On the other hand I have to reside myself to 40yards max off the pod, 35yards max kneeling and I don't take standing shots as I couldn't hit a barn door! All the best Rob 3 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Hi Rob. It's all in jest mate. I don't for one minuet believe he didn't take the shot. He could have probably done better though if he had been shooting a daystate Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Moxy Well said pal , it's plain to see that' you know your air rifles , unlike some people I could name, but won't we could have most likely make a standing shot of 65 yards with these superb air rifles ! No problem . It's just a shame that you can't educate every body in the ways of shooting , lol And more to the point DAYSTATE RIFLES I rest my case Atb Dave 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,585
I rarely shoot my air rifle as I can't compete with my son but we don't measure his shooting in yards he gets excited about getting three out of four rabbits or four out of five sitting in a group 1 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
David. I'm glad to see that you have one hell of a sense of humour Quote Link to post
