  1. That's good news. I've got high mounts on mine currently and VM uses mediums. We were thinking surely having high mounts wouldn't mean you run out of elevation, but maybe that is the case? I can't imagine quarter of and inch would make that much difference
  2. Hi, I'm villaman's mate who has the same problem. New sidewinder, consistent groups but low and to the left when elevation is at max. Got it replaced and gave the same problem. So VM and I are going to try without the mod, then stick it on his HW. Process of elimination but as VM said the gun was fine before the sidewinder. Really hoping it's not a gun issue but concerned that there are quality issues with the hawke. I'll update when we know more.
  3. So she added text and sent it back! This is the girl who said I will never stop you going hunting because you come back so chilled! I think she's a keeper!
  4. I'm now seriously praying for good weather on Monday Mitch. Looks awesome.
  5. All good chaps, I have been informed of the p*ss taking on this site and fully support any if it's towards VM !!! I only wish I hadn't missed the 'changing of the avatar' episode as I know Mitch loves his Daystates !! ;-)
  6. Hi Chaps I don't post on here often (I probably should to be fair as this over any other forum provides by far the best reading). I'm a mate of Villaman and while I wasn't there if he said he took the shot, then he took the shot. Mitch practices constantly, rain or shine, more than anyone I know and is out in the field all the time. So this shot is totally believable in my opinion. On the other hand I have to reside myself to 40yards max off the pod, 35yards max kneeling and I don't take standing shots as I couldn't hit a barn door! All the best Rob
  7. I'm a rare poster on here, but to be honest Tim, after hunting bunnies for 4 years my entre into pigeon shooting has been greatly influenced by your posts on here and other forums. To the point that taking the occasional pigeon is my staple now while the rabbits build their numbers on my small permission. Operating within the few rules that we airgun hunters are obliged are, in my opinion, a privilidge. There are many countries that do not entertain what we do and while bitching about restrictions is commonplace, I give thanks every time I rock up to my permission for the fact it provid
  8. why steal the child's thunder ! Pathetic comment to make !! FFS Another keyboard warrier that connot read, just looks at pictures, and makes assumtions. Read the o/post again the child did not catch the fish!!!!!!!! What part of the bold do you not understand? Its fisheries owners charging top money for shit fish. Are you lot really that fecking thick that you cannot see what was said? TC I don't think £10 for a day ticket is a fishery owner charging top money ?? Yes it's a stockie but I don't reckon the young lad would have been bothered if the fish and no fecking tail at all do you
  9. Some trout ponds we fish are full of them. One time we put a couple of trout tails in bass bags and left them while we fished. Pulled them up every hour or so, ended up with between two of us. Purged, boiled and served up with chilli mayo. Lovely!
  10. This thread is quite topical for me. I have just sold a really nice, tuned TX200 and bought the 97kt. The TX was lovely and post tuning even better, sub 5p groups at 35yards when I'm on form, took many a rabbit. But for me personally there was just something I didn't quite get on with. The 97 is stunning, it fits me better, I find the locktime faster and it will have a PG2 kit in there soon. Does the shorter locktime make it a better rifle, no, some people prefer the tx shot cycle and shoot it brilliantly. Does the prosport wth its stunning stock make it better than the TX? In
  11. I think both are equally as good. While I only shoot .177, I use a 30/30 ret and from experience have taken rabbit to 45 yards with a bit of holdover. But with the right reticle, a laser rangefinder and a properly calibrated set up it has been proven that much longer ranges are possible with both calibres (ala mr.pittaway and friends). I don't think one is better than another if you master your particular set up.
  12. That's a stunning picture, slightly puts my 13 acre permission to shame!
  13. I was just going to say the same thing re the 77. Is that a venom silencer? All the best Rob
