Neal 1,888
I once had a pair who were named after my teaching assistant's kids as her surname was Ferrett. Now that I've got kids of my own, my last two were named after cbeebies characters...but I'm currently ferretless as those two died last winter and my permission's being covered in a housing estate. If i get chance il take a cuppa and sit in there run for an hour and just let em get on with it.Its peace and quiet for me and they seem to enjoy it. As for trying to wriggle out your hand when picking up, its normal especially if there only just let out(excitement etc) When there happy/relaxed they wont wriggle as much but obviously the more you handle the better. Seriously when i have a litter i will spend 2 hours a day playing/handling that litter every day,as they get older i reduce the time, but that's how i get good rounded ferrets to keep or move on.I have never been seriously bitten by one of my ferrets in over 30 years of keeping em and that's the way i like it!! 9 Quote Link to post
