Grass it over and all you have to do is mow it.     320 rolls of turf, 3 days to shift and lay it and a week for my Hamstrings to recover. Sadly, it doesn't look like that anymore. Fu*king dogs.

I think our gardens are related... LOL.

I favoured the dig it over and grass it option, the grass is really coming through now. Got a f**k load of hardcore and gravel to skip, a fence to finish and outhouses that need new doors and frames. Much prefer outdoors work to indoors mind, f*****g bathroom is dragging now...

how far are you from notts??? i can probably beat skip prices on your hardcore if your not to far away.........

When I say hardcore, I mean a pile of hardcore, council concrete fence posts, half of next doors hedge, my old bathroom suit, about 6 tubs of broken tiles, all manor of metal and wood I found etc etc. It's all just in one big heap, lol. Got a mate that's sorting it though. Always looking to make a buck eh stewie, can't fault ya.:thumbs:

Yup and the fridge freezer lol

Did a big clear out couple month ago mate

Cleared the snow, dug a big hole, put it all in and cover it all up again. Be June before the snow clears and then it's back again in July, happy days!

Shillys, shillies, shitties, what the feck are you on about and what a load of old shit.... Cheap, nasty, Ground Force bollocks, stoning ground, that fecking Tommy Walsh, Alan Tithead and co have a lot to answer for.... Stone gets kicked all over the place, leaves and other shite bed in it and eventually weeds grow and hey presto, back to square one but this time it ain't so easy to sort..!

It only looks nice when its in a big curve on the driveway of a stately home. On the average drive or garden it looks as it is, cheap and nasty!

No need for a rotovator on a patch like that. Turn it over in ten mins with a spade, sift the weeds and any stone out and rake it smooth. Either turf of seed the big bit, then once its done a mow will take you 10 mins a week from April to October.

The two smaller bits, lob in some easy perennials. Cottage garden favorites are best, Delphiniums, Hollyhocks, Lilly's, Lupins etc. You get a big summer show and by October you've cut em all down to nothing, leave 'em and next year they come right back and better. All done once a year only... Dead easy!

How fecking hard is that? Nice little lawn, big bold show on the flowers and beers cracked and folk round for a barbie.... Hey, your a fecking gardener... !!!

10 mins!! Fook. You see thoze two little rectangles on first pic... between concrete paths. Well thatl take me ten mins to dig & rake...

You make it sound so easy bosun :laugh:

It is easy RH, a damn sight easier than most folk think. So what if it takes a little longer! Start with them two beds, you'll have 'em tidy in no time and move through the rest. Work at your own pace, keep it all simple. You'll be dead proud of it as it grows, honest..

How wicked would this be for the summer :). Never been one for gardens but as I've got older I think you should have a nice garden. Nice to be out in durring the summer for bbqs.

Just took this one of my top beds today. That first rectangle is about the same size as those two beds of yours RH.

I like that big show, cottage garden look, and there is little to do except cut it back after flower. The coverage even prevents weeds!

Apart from the Lupins, which were around £2 each the other year as a quick fix, everything else was either gifted, split or cuttings off someone else. In short, that top bit has cost me about a tenner!

Just need more height at the back this year to hide that fence.
