Shotgun Cert £200

Recommended Posts

It's been going around for quite a while now, but keeps getting knocked back for whatever reason.

I certainly don't want to pay £200, but to be fair, £200 for 5 years still isn't terrible.

That's what I was thinking, Walshie. Similar to our own, new, system.

Used to be about €45.00, per gun, per year. Now we pay, what ever, for three years.

Actually, it's quite nice, to be honest. Because, I mean, ye Know it's coming! Not like this €300.00 bill just lands on ye mat. (I have two guns) And, once ye've paid for it? Relax! No more shit for a whole three years!

For me, considering the taxi fares alone involved in getting from pillar to post, trying to catch evasive Gards and get rubber stamping done? It's actually, quite likely, saving me a small f**king fortune!

I still don't really understand why you have to re-apply every 5 years anyway. Once you've been granted why not just allow it for life?

maybe because people circumstances change , and they don't want a gun no more, so gives the opportunity to give up gun up with out keeping applying for new one every 5 years. But I know what you mean though , ive been shooting 12g for 30 years, been at my house 24 years, so gun in the same cabinet , so does seem daft to keep visiting every 5 years to check me out  but the increase is fooking joke if it goes through.???

Its recommended we pay £200 for the license ... The head of the feo's stated that it cost £50 for a license but costs £196 pounds to issue ... This includes your visits paperwork etc ... They are introducing an online form which will reduce the cost by nearly half ... 99% of the callers into the show remarked that shooters were all posh toffs with plenty of money so they should pay the £200 without arguing ........

So is it £200 plus annual fee per gun?
