Pressurised Can Of Gun Oil ....?

Recommended Posts

Okay. In my heart of hearts, I know it's f**ked. Yeah? It's not coming out any more (I've tried everything I know) and it's about 3/4 of a full tin!

This is good oil. Not cheap. And getting another tin of it is pretty much out of the question now.

But; There is no way of getting at it ~ is there? Puncture that tin, in any way, shape or form? I'm effectively creating an IED. Yeah?

Fire my rifle at the very top edge of it, at 100 yards? Massive bang and a cloud of f**king oil ....?

Damn, this is pissing me off! I'll have to throw the whole f**king tin away soon. Because it's got rusty and, I know, could simply go off at any time.

Sitting here with a time bomb just above my head. Not too clever, is it?

You trying to get my hand blown off, Chidder?!

A pressurised can won't explode mate it just depressurises ... It only blows up on a fire because of heat ... You can pierce the can with no problems at all the worst that can happen is there will sti

Wtf would you know about deodorant?

Depends why it's not coming out any more. If it's the nozzle blocked, try sticking something down it. If all the pressure has gone, it's safe to pierce the can with a nail or similar.

 Are you guys being serious here?

I know pressurised cans, even empty ones, go off like a bomb on a fire. And it does state, on the cans, not to puncture or incinerate them.

No. I'm a bit scared of this thing. How do I know if it's lost its pressure? Could just be the release valve's f**ked. Go sticking a bradawl into it? No telling what might happen.

Wish I had access to a .177 air gun. I'd stick it in the vice and shoot it from thirty yards. My own f**king rifle would totally destroy it, regardless of pressure. No point in that.

Would be sweet to salvage that oil though. Smells nice. " Brunox Turbo Spray ". German stuff, apparently. " Gun Care Spray ".

Wonder if it's just 'WD40'? I have half a gallon of that. In a plastic flagon icon_neutral_zpsf88c927b.gif

are you any good at darts pete?? put the can standing against a wall, go back 5 or 6 paces and throw your darts till you get the bullseye!!

there is fek all it will do even if it is preassurised mate, stick your bradawl in and there will be no explosion, gas or no gas, worst case is puncture near the top of the can, if there is gas in there it will come out and leave the oil at the bottom.

to make it explode you need 3 elements, oxygen, fuel and lastly heat/ignition. you wont have a source of ignition by simply putting a hole in the tin so no explosion!!
