What Is The Proper Term For A Person Who Hunts With Ferrets?

I always thought you called someone who hunts with ferrets a "ferreter" but I can't seem to find the word in dictionaries, or in Google, so now I'm wondering if I just made up that word in my head.

 

So what do you call someone who participates in ferreting?

I'd say that's more of a very old term used to describe someone who's job it was to catch rabbits back in the day when estates maintained their rabbit populations as a source of meat..
