Why are people on this thread being critical of a professional being motivated by money? The fight for money.   I only go to work for the money.   Fighting for pride, taking a beating to prove hi

Hea a gobshite always ran it of about calzaghe .froch couldnt lace joes boots

Mmm I think I'll wait until I see who he picks to fight next before I pass judgment. .   I can understand why he'd wanna go elsewhere, especially if he's thinking it could be his last.   I've gon

Froch not in same league as calzaghe. Joe gave kessler a boxing lesson for 12 rounds at times you could say he was playing with him, froch had a tough time with kessler in both fights. Joe should have shut him up years ago then he would not be delusional thinking he is a legend!!!

Ask 100 fight fans who they would rather watch fight Froch or Calzaghe......90% will say Froch........and thats because he is/was what is called a fighters fighter.........Calzaghe would more than likely of out hustled him and beat him on points 9 out of every 10 times they met we know that......but the super fit hit and hop it merchants will never recieve the same appreciation as the Froch,Benn type of " lets go to war " fighters....they never have and never will.

calzaghe wouldn't take the fight simple as ------ I think if he had it would of been another froch groves scenario but well never know watched jc fight a few times and it was never edge of your seat stuff ...

and i watched joe fight and froch was never in the same league as him as much as you try and convince yourself and others he was ..joe was a thoroughbred and froch a well managed cart horse .Theres three fights out there for froch cos theres no money in a ward fight because hes got no chance and it wont sell .the first choice if hes the heart for it is the rematch with Groves a rematch with kessler or step up and fight hopkins in his own back yard like joe did .  calzhagi wouldnt take the fight ffs

calzhagi would have totally overwhelmed him and stopped him very convincingly

brookie calzaghe would`nt take the fight otherwise it would of happened so we`ll never know---never said he was in the same league there 2 different types of fighter who fought in 2 different eras so I wouldn't make any comparison be no point -- no money in the ward fight not what hbo are saying the ward fights the biggest fight in terms of money out the 4 you`ve put up ,,,, I post my views I don't try to convince anyone on here I think most of you can make your own minds up ------a well managed cart horse nowt new there I`ve been posting on here for 3 year how well frochs as done with limited boxing skills ---do I think he would of beaton jc no -------- so I don't see your problem maybe you should read more of my posts or read them fully before you start having a dig ;)

my point is malt we`ll never know so it seems a bit of a silly comparison ---I saw 5 of jc fights live and at times it was like watching paint dry ;) .....

Aye, I saw some stinkers over the years too mate, not actually there but I paid for them! The way I look at it is Froch's strength seems to be soaking up the hits for the first half of the fight, then coming on strong when his opponent starts tiring. He'd have still been waiting at the final bell for Calzaghe's work rate to let up..

I agree he would of overwhelmed him but he didnt have the power to put a dent in Froch.............ive said for a few years now its time to go back to 15 rounds for championship fights and Calzaghe was the perfect example of why............with the advances in todays conditioning a fighter with an engine like Calzaghe can go 12 rounds too easily and win fights against superior fighters on speed/fitness alone......look how much Mayweather has left in the tank at the end of a 12 rounder,he could go another 12 !.......heart is no longer being tested yet it should be a vital part of a fighters make up..........a lot of the qualities a fighter needs never got proven with Calzaghe as his speed and fitness were so high he was never really tested........while that doesnt detract from his achievements it does leave us with more questions than answers...........when fighters retire we usually know every strength and weakness they had yet theres still so many things we dont know about Calzaghe.
