pip1968 2,490
I can tell you the antis did make a huge impact on shooting! dressing up as police? setting dogs on shooters? stabbing tyres on the 4x4s? blocking shooters in at there homes? trying to open trucks to grab fire arms? spitting at shooters? running around fields with lights letting fireworks off? it was nearly imposible, so please lads dont knock the lads who took the time to help the cull because they did more than enough considering what they were up against. as far as the trapping is concerned traps were cut in half smashed and stolen. I hope this ansures some of the coments from above. The cull was a success nobody was killed or shot so it will open the door to future culls im sure. Has anything happened with regards to the antis who dressed as police? That's a serious offence, you will go to prison for that. What about those that set dogs onto shooters? It must've been a fecking nightmare. I hate antis. So much so, that I punched an old lady in the head yesterday as she bought free range eggs in Sainsburys.
the_stig 6,614
by 92 when the badger act was renewed/updated tb had already been around for 10 year then they leave another 20 year before they do anything about it I was talking to an old farmer in 92 he said they wont write anything thing into the 92 act regarding a cull or tb he said they`ll wait till it becomes a real problem before they do anything about it then they wont have a fooking clue how to go about it... he was still clearing his own up until a few year ago ---as for shooting could pop off 4-5 most nights round me ... Matt 160
How many times could you 'pop off' those 4 or 5 badgers Stig? As I said earlier, it's easy to sit on the internet and speculate, but the truth is that in most areas the control rate was very high. Reports of sightings were falling, and it wasn't worth keeping the infrastructure in place for a few more billies. You have to remember that this was a pilot, to look at the best ways to cull within the terms of the licence. As pilots, both culls were successful, no-one was shot, and the early indications are that all the badgers killed were done so humanely. Sadly, due to animal rights loonies, some pockets of badgers were left, but given the fact that the licence runs for four years we should catch up with them the next time around. Dosser 52
What a totally insane world we live in ! There is an army of decent terrier lad's out there that would gladly co-operate with individual farmers and control as per their wishes, with little fuss or fanfare, as they used to years ago, all for free. Instead the gubment spends millions on an ill fated scheme that has all the bunny huggers up in arms and hunters splashed all over the press again. The badger is the least suited animal to be controlled by long range shooting that I can think of. What a fukc up !

rob284 1,682
At the end of the day if theyre overpopulated and a cull is needed why is it a protected animal. Absolute bullshit

Really??
