arcticgun 4,548
I do my level best with mine, and get a huge amount of satisfaction in return, not just days out but the time spent daily with them, it also keeps me fit as well, I cannot get them out as much as I like , family work etc always their to contend with, but the days we do get out they pay me back tenfold, even the bad days they just give me more incentive to work harder, I think in most cases lads need to be realistic as too what they might potentially end up with, we cannot and will not all have champions, but we can all have the same amount of fun and excitement trying, too many young dogs are written off as soon as something else comes along that grabs the headlines , so lads ditch last pup and simply move on, nine times out of ten they wont of even seen the stud or dam running even, sad for the pups that get shafted, for me its spending time fetching them on to their full potential and then looking to improve what you have , takes more than one or two seasons to judge a dog imho 3 Quote Link to post

fitchet 788
Come on then ALL the lads who always have opinions on other folks dogs , name dogs , coursing dogs ect. How would you be rated if dogs could talk lol Bet most of yous would be jackers Seriously do you do your dog justice in every way ? In all honesty Im below average. The dogs do me justice but I wouldn't say I give them 100% all the time but they do. I'd say they get a lot of work between the two and they are out everyday doing something they are fed a good diet and are looked after. But most of there work is done on shitty ground and even when they've done well I'm allways overlooking it and not thinking fair play to em they done well there. But then again I'm sure if my dogs could talk they are happy with there lot there's a lot worst places they could be and I put a lot of work into getting them right where as most would give them the bullet or move on the next unfortunate. 1 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,623
Well I can condition a dog as good as the next man I think lol..getting a dog in top shape is no great shakes. .the real art is keeping it on that pedestal for a long period of time imo? My dogs have no heat lamps or such just a quilt apiece and the Don dog has nothing as he wont keep any bedding in his kennel so with him im probably a jacker the others no better than middle to below average..the kennels are dry, clean, insulated and the runs NEVER have crap lying about as the dogs dont clean in them as they are out regularly. .seen way better set ups than I have on here. .but like Arcticgun said im sure they could be in far worse of an environment. .they get grafted, well fed and rested when needed. .they seem content but who knows? 4 Quote Link to post
