I have been reading all the media stuff about Paolo,s "antics" and his manner with players and on the touchline and all that old bollocks and how it pisses fans and players off etc etc.........   We

You lads are absolutely right......I was telling someone earlier today about a charity boxing do i was at a few years ago,Terry Venables happened to be there and as luck would have it i got introduced

The man does not understand the meaning of the word "mediocre"........he has played with, for and under the best in the game, his work ethic when he was a player in training was second to none...........he is a football fan first and a manager second

Its piss easy to blame a manager in football these days but in this case I think he is bang on the money, the players need to look at themselves..........its the case in most run of the mill teams

When talent lacks the heart has to replace and if they aint got that then they need a kick up the arse.

I think the approach he takes can only get success dependant on the type of characters he has to work with........some players/sportsmen are intimidated by a trainer with a strong stance and go into their shell.......others are inspired by it and come to the front........he is a very charismatic man but that doesnt always go in your favour as some players will rebel where others will want to perform for him.......it split the dressing room at Swindon where half the squad thought he was the bees knees where the other half couldnt stand him........its a sad state of affairs that top footballers cant just perform for their own pride and competetive nature regardless of whos telling them what to do......i think managers play too big a part in the game today.

I think hes the type of manager who will need to go down a division , build for promotion with players he can bring on , buy in his type of player and get the whole club invested in his philosophy .It will take time for a manager like him to build for success with everyone on the same wave length . Throwing him in with a bunch of journeymen at a club doomed for relegation is always going to be a disaster .

Thats exactly what he did at Swindon though Stan......thats what got him this job............its sad to say but i just dont think many modern day players have the attitude to embrace the character of a man like Dicanio.........i use the word sad because what we,re really saying is many players today wouldnt embrace the likes of Clough/Shankly etc in todays game.......can you imagine back chatting and copping an attitude witha manager like Clough !!......................I dont think the problem is Dicanio as a man i think the problem is todays footballers as men.
