welshwhippet22 23
Was offered the opportunity to have a few hours out with a local hunter on his permission tonight and jumped at the offer. It was the first night out on the lamp for the dog in some 4 maybe 5 months and it couldn't have been any worse. He ran half heartedly on each of the 5 runs he had and on 2 he was shoulder to shoulder with the rabbit and didn't attempt to strike. He also trotted passed 2 sitters and didn't even know they were there!! Felt like a right tool and was glad the moon made an appearance so we had an excuse to go home. Don't think I'll be getting another invite off him in a hurry:-( time to get practicing I think Quote Link to post

bird 10,014
never mind mate, plenty of time yet. Even with dogs with few seasons under the collar, always pick few easy rabbits just to blow the cobwebs off, then they norm get in to the swing of it.Next time walk the dog a close as you can to the rabbit, and make sure the the dog (really) seen the rabbit before you slip it, dont forget we alot taller me 6ft so you might have seen it but not a 20-24in. keep at it 1 Quote Link to post
