FUJI 17,624
Thanks folks...Breeze this is my second summer of hosting the old bitch of Tomo's..I enjoy having her,she ain't a bit of bother, eats, sleeps (never comes out the kennel) and goes for a walk..my lad has her out just now with the terriers and Fenn for a mooch around,I've just had Don,Swift and Sox out, still got the Saluki's and Pom to take yet haha, got the dinners all made up so summat less to do,it's a full time job is this..the old portamag has been getting some stick,a few aches, pains, knocks and cuts already...nothing to stop them going to graft this week though, got all that old hair out of Sox now she looks a million dollars and being half Greyhound is muscled right up,Don is getting about 20 runs on the ball just now,his belly is worse than mine haha,Venus is flying, coursing with the pups has brought her on considerably, she will bag 30 odd bunnies first time out without a bother..Swift has had a gallop to blow the cobwebs away along with Fenn, they caught a few bunnies a big un and a red jacket .... Really looking forward to the season,I'm looking forward to starting my pups away and hopefully Venus and my own mutts can knock a bit of gear over for us over the forthcoming months :-) 1 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,624
Had Venus and the pups out this morning, was a dull, breezy day with very light drizzle, nothing to bother about though ..i suppose this will of been one of owld Venus last trips out in the Lakes this year so i went with the intention of trying to put a bit of meat in the freezer ...alas it wasn't to be we seen 4 or 5 but they were all off and gone before the mutts could get on the arse of them in the forestry, the cream pup is lovely to watch hunting at times,he for certain is gonna be a real un at seeking beasties if he is no good for nothing else? The pups are 11 month old today and today was the 1st time i've seen Boots half cock his leg for a piss ..one thing that concerns me with Fife is that he is starting to lose his hair on his hind legs ..a common occurence with Greyhounds and the exact cause is apparently unknown?...the most probable cause according to the scientific brigade is "racing stress" ...looks like Benzyl Benzoate will be the order of the day here but it ain't no overnight fix thats for sure...will be back out tomorrow,so you never know different place, different time, different day the end result may be different to? 1 Quote Link to post

Aye,my lads have been getting the older dogs into some sort of shape Snoops,to be fair the lads have them looking grand for this time of year,as for my pups, the cream pup is nigh on ready to go imo but Boots is 6 weeks away although i'm pretty sure he would do ok if i started him now but i've waited this long and a little while longer it will be until i fully unleash him..he isn't quite as mentally forward as Fife, they've been like that from day one...the black pup is looking mint, great big back on him and his coat you could shave in..he is what you could call "eye candy"..,i ain't measured or weighed him but i'd say he will be 27tts easily and 70lb or very close to it..fully matured he's going to be a fine looking dog i just hope the c**t can run a bit 1 Quote Link to post
