Collie Grey Or Beddy Grey

Recommended Posts

The whippet is just 100mph and as a result ends up laid up a lot he tears easy

I appreciate that. I wasn't talking whippet. I don't really consider a whippet "versatile".

Just something lurcher to lurcher bred from 2 dogs doing various general lurcher work, around the 24" mark.

For me a half cross would be lacking in certain areas but it entirely depends on what you are going to be doing.

Lurcher - Lurcher is the way I will be going from now on.

In my opinion all dogs have hunting instincts so it doesnt matter if their parents are working dogs, the way the owner trains and brings them on is what makes the dog. The more you put in the more you

And you wonder why there so much shit around.

Get a mix of the 2 and you wont go wrong good luck

I don't think you should restrict your self to either Beddy or Collie cross Tomas, but both would do the job, if I were you I,d try and find someone with a bitch doing the same type of work you want yours to do and wait for a pup, presuming he puts a good dog over his bitch, aim for something around 24inch, its a good place to start if your wanting an all rounder, if you decied to go for a Beddy cross have a look on the 2 main Beddy sites, theres sometimes Beddy X GH pups for sale, atb, buster

I would of had a litter planned early next year that was just up your street mate.

The bitch is my 24" saluki/whippet/grey. Good ferreting bitch, good lamp bitch. No world beater but a honest, steady working dog that has done a bit of everything and will turn her paw to most tasks.

And I was going to put a collie/bull/grey over her, well tested dog, done it all. Again very steady and loyal working dog, 25" tts.

Would of done everything you want and more.

I don't think I will be going ahead with the litter now as I have been offered a pup from a very good lad and really like the sound of them.

But in my opinion this is the sort of thing you want.

Gaz.

Don't get me wrong I love whippet he's full of fire. He does suffer from thin skin and does cut up easy. How do border collies differ from bearded in temperment

I can only go on the ones I've worked, I found collie lurcher I had with a tad of beardie in it had a much greater desire to want to hunt for a scent when there wasn't much about, he would work at a greater distance from me rather than checking on me every 2 seconds. He had more determination to get hold of what ever he was chasing. Maybe I just got lucky, but my god he could hunt,,,,nose down eyes up......I thought all lurchers were like this.....until I got another.
