dai dogs 1,193
Been cleaning the attic out today and came across THE HUNTERS YEARBOOK 1982 . Read this paperback years ago but still had a hour spare today to have a read. One story about a dog called celt by MICK LANGLEY the dog was owned by EDDIE JONES at 6 months old coursed a hare for five minutes . Now iv had many dogs over the years like many other folk that could do many tasks . FIVE MINUTES AT 6 MONTHS OLD ? Any old heads on here that was there or know anyone that was ? Quote Link to post
salukixgrey 779
sounds a bit far fetched Quote Link to post

Maybe Eddie Jones Celt...Plummer/Hancock bred it from his Merle dog....???? Seems a tall order for a 6 month old 3/4 bred collie greyhound...and was probably more to do with bullshit hype "The Fabulous Three-Quarter Bred"...bandied about at the time when Hancock first started out breeding lurchers for a living.... That Celt was meant to be a good dog though.... 2 Quote Link to post
Guest thebigdog
could have, but i dont imagine it would have been a strong hare, would have to be the type of hare, a good adult dog could more or less lift out of it's seat. Quote Link to post

Good pic dai ive also got the book. There was a lot of hype about this type back in the day. in the right hands most i have seen made decent enough dogs. i also have seen the video clip of celt as a young pup playing cat and mouse with his first rabbit as described in the book.
